Lindsey Graham On The Rahm Emanuel Selection (you're not going to believe it)
In a statement:

"This is a wise choice by President-elect Obama.

"Rahm knows Capitol Hill and has great political skills. He can be a tough partisan but also understands the need to work together. He is well-suited for the position of White House Chief of Staff.

"I worked closely with him during the presidential debate negotiations which were completed in record time. When we hit a rough spot, he always looked for a path forward. I consider Rahm to be a friend and colleague. He's tough but fair. Honest, direct, and candid. These qualities will serve President-elect Obama well.

"Rahm understands the challenges facing our nation and will, consistent with the agenda set by President-elect Obama, work to find common ground where it exists. I look forward to working with him in his new position and will continue to do everything I can to help find a pathway forward on the difficult problems facing our nation."

11. That was a laugh out loud comment.
:) Never the less, good for Graham. Even McCain seems relieved. We remain in interesting times. I'm hoping the mundane will surface, but probably not anytime soon.

30. Right, it is time to redine what is far left
100% guaranteed health care for all Americans is centrist. We guarantee educational opportunity, there is not a thing "far left" about public schools. We need to reset the bar...public health care shouldn't be on the far left agenda, hell, 1/2 the far left agenda belongs in the fricken middle of the spectrum.

Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 04:16 PM by leftofthedial
are not well-organized enough to have yet formed a coalition.

Of course, all members of the Democrat Party are "radical leftist" according to Mr. Graham (I affectionately call him graham cracker).

33. of course there isn't -wink-
-nudge-

that's why the IWR, PATRIOT Act, Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, PATRIOT Act extensions, etc. failed.

And why the bush cabal was held strictly accountable for 9-11 failures, illegal wiretapping, election fraud, exposing CIA operatives, the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq, implementing and condoning torture, ignoring congressional subpoenas, etc.

Now, if the repukes HAD an auxiliary, a few of those might have happened.

After all, if the "progressive" caucus couldn't garner enough votes to override the "irrelevant" DLC, there is a problem.

14. I know someone who knows Sen. Graham well.
That person has always said that Graham is a slave to his constituents. According to this person (a die-hard dem) Graham has lamented that he has had to compromise his principles for the "party". Perhaps this is his way of getting back in. I mean, he could be a nice person - maybe...

25. apparently, from more of the upcoming Newsweek book
Lindsey liked getting Piper "hopped up" on Mountain Dew....random....

http://www.newsweek.com/id/167905/page/3

"So what's the difference between a snowmobile and a snow machine, anyway?" Salter asked. "They're the same thing," Todd replied. "Right, so why not call it a snowmobile?" Salter joshed. "Because it's a snow machine," came the reply.

Later, Schmidt and Salter went outside so that Salter could have a cigarette. "So how about the Eskimo? Is he on the level?" Schmidt asked. Salter just shrugged and took another drag.

McCain loved the whole Palin family. They seemed to offer some relief, if not a touch of anarchy, to the Straight Talk Express, which had become a bit joyless. Piper, the governor's 7-year-old, thought nothing of crawling across Joe Lieberman's lap to get to her mother. Lindsey Graham mischievously enjoyed getting the child hopped up on Mountain Dew, a beverage to which he was mildly addicted. McCain relished talking to his running mate about guns and hunting in the wild. Duprey made up a T shirt that read OUR CANDIDATE FOR VP CAN HUNT, SHOOT, DRESS, COOK HER DINNER. JOE BIDEN ORDERS TAKE-OUT. Palin put on the shirt and gave him a hug. "I love this shirt," she said

Edited on Thu Nov-06-08 04:33 PM by kwolf68
Its not his administration, it's Barack Obama's...if I thought Barack Obama needed counsel from the likes of Johnny Boner I wouldn't have voted for him.

Alas, I did vote for Mr. Obama and did so because I have absolutely no doubt he will put the right people into position to clean up the feces and piss the Republican oligarchy has doused everything they have touched with.

34. Followers will follow anything. Lindsey belongs at the kids' table.
He is as snivveling and spineless on the inside as he is on the outside.

I can't wait to see the pathetic GOP leftovers attempt to hold their ground in punditland with Obama's staff.

It's not even a fair fight. Kindergarten's over, Lindsey: The grow ups are back in charge, and you're just sad.
