Will CNN wimp out AGAIN to the GOP?
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 12:12 AM by mbali
G.O.P. Riled by 2 CNN Hosts

The Bush campaign has questioned CNN's allowing James Carville and Paul Begala to continue as commentators despite their role as informal advisers to the Kerry campaign.

"It seems highly irregular that CNN would tolerate two employees' openly working and advising and appearing on behalf of the John Kerry for President campaign," Steve Schmidt, a Bush spokesman, said Wednesday.

In retooling its message since the Republican National Convention, the Kerry organization has taken increasingly keen interest in advice from Mr. Begala and Mr. Carville, who were political strategists for President Bill Clinton and are now the liberal co-hosts of the CNN program "Crossfire," opposite the conservative co-hosts, Robert Novak and Tucker Carlson.

Now, let's see if CNN - the network that currently provides Bob Novak, the biggest GOP shill around (and a potential criminal reeking of conflicts of interest), no fewer than three shows - and, in addition, regularly presents him as an objective political "analyst" - will stand up to this pressure or cave into it.

2. Not officially - he just uses his column to advance Bush's political agend
which includes revealing the identity of undercover CIA operatives, among other things.

3. Crossfire is not the news anyway!
Crossfire is a talk show. I don't see a problem with having a member of a campaign as the co-host of a talk show. It's not like Carville and Begala are giving the evening News!

4. Exactly - unlike Novak who regularly appears on news broadcasts to
offer political "analysis."

5. Well they don't seem to get riled about...
...the other hundreds of hosts that work for Karl Rove and bu$hit, do they?

Once again, Blatant Pretentious Hypocrisy (BPH) is the Hallmark of Republicans...

6. Carville, Begala and (sometimes) Al Hunt are the ONLY left of center
personalities on CNN and they never appear on air unchallenged - they are ALWAYS paired with a right winger to counter them.

Yet CNN regularly presents right wing "analysts" alone and without challenge.

Some balance.

7. Catch 22. If they don't carry Chimpie's water, they lose press access.

that is what is wrong with the press, in a nutshell.

These weak-kneed bastards are afraid of being blackballed if they report stuff that makes the Chimp look bad.

Makes you puke!

edit: I don't mean Carville and Begala. The rest of the bastards.

8. Then I expect to never ever ever again see the likes of
any GOP mouthpiece like Dave Dreier, Dana Rohrbacher, Pat Robertson, Billy Graham, etc. etc. etc. to be on Crossfire until after November 2nd.
