The Al Franken Campaign Really Needs Our Help with the Recount
Edited on Sat Nov-08-08 10:21 AM by pathansen
Coleman won by less than 1/10th of a percent which means there is an automatic recount. The Al Frankin Campaign needs every resource they can muster to ensure that Minnesotans’ voices are heard. So they are going to put professionals & staff in place in every county in Minnesota to ensure that every vote is properly counted and need our help to fund their effort.

Please click the following to rush an emergency contribution to their recount fund:

In case you need more motivation to help Franken and haven’t yet seen the following videos:
Here is a video of Norm Coleman’s pathetic, desperate explanation in response to 2 lawsuits by a Texas Republican and shareholders about a $100,000 bribery scandal he is involved in. They don't call him the "Master of Spin" for nothing.

3. Correction: Nobody's WON yet.
When you write that Coleman WON, you imply that the recount might undo what has already been decided rather than accurately determining the true will of the voters.

15. Franken trails by just 221 votes as of this morning.
I donated $300 to help Franken hire attorneys and other staff for the recount.

I remember how O'Reilly use to dog Al all the time. Norm is nothing but a right wing YES man. I hope like hell Al gets in there.

18. What's the money for?
I didn't see anything in the links that explains - and I really don't understand the need for $$.

Isn't the state paying for it?

21. Attorneys, paid staff
The state pays for the recount but each campaign hires their own attorneys and other paid staff to help oversee the recount.

22. From my understanding, each county will do their own recount. There is no telling who comprises the
people who are doing the recount. He needs boots on the ground to make sure that the recount is fair, correct, and honest.

23. This is from an email I got from the Franken campaign
Dear Friend,

What an amazing night! Together, we brought real change to our state and to our country by electing Barack Obama President of the United States.

Here in Minnesota, it was a LONG night, too. And now that all of the precincts have reported in, this race is STILL too close to call. The gap between Al Franken and Norm Coleman? Just ONE ONE-HUNDREDTH of a percentage point.

Under Minnesota law, that triggers an automatic statewide recount. And that means our work isn't done quite yet. We are going to put staff in place in every county in Minnesota to ensure that every vote is properly counted. And we need you to help fund our effort.

Believe it or not, this race isn't over. And it looks like it will be decided by just a few votes. We need every resource we can muster to ensure that Minnesotans' voices are heard - and to make sure that every vote is properly counted.

So please rush your emergency contribution today. And stay tuned for updates.

Thank you for everything,

Stephanie Schriock
Campaign Manager

33. done, Al Franken was the only person my 84 year old mom in Utah sent money to this year
after Hillary lost that is. (She supported Hillary in her Senate races too)

She never ceases to surprise me.

I didn't think she really knew who Franken was. Must have been from Maher or Stewart's shows. She never misses either one.
