Lieberman should be appointed Ambassador to Israel
CT if I'm correct has a Democratic Governor. That means he'd most likely be backfilled by a Dem.

I quadruple, triple, double dog dare the NEW Big Dog (Obama) to do it!

25. I can't figure it myself, but it happens
The current governor was the lieutenant governor when governor John Rowland resigned in a corruption scandal. He was subsequently indicted, convicted, and sentenced to jail. Jodi Rell was never implicated in the scandal. She quietly served out his term and was elected herself to a full term which kind of surprised me. CT tends to trade off Republicans and Democrats as governor (roster at: http://www.cslib.org/gov/), reflecting either the state of the State, prevailing political winds, or the personal appeal of the candidate. The legislature is dominated by Democrats and has been for as long as I can remember. What shakes up the political landscape here is mostly who was most recently caught rigging the system of handing out state contracts. Which everyone does, eventually. Governor Rowland was a big deal because while there are many scandals there tend to be more headlines than indictments. It took the feds to bring a racketeering charge and make it stick. In fact I checked that conn state library link for Rowland's biography. It never mentioned indictment, conviction, sentencing. In fact I entered "indictment" as a search term and came up "no documents found". My mother will be highly amused by that.

3. An ambassador should be someone we trust and someone whose top priority is the best
interests of the U.S., rather than the best interests of the country to which he or she is posted. IMO, Lieberman fails both of those tests. He's already sold out his country and his party to do what he considers to be in the best interests of Israel.

6. No, I favor them giving him a bad office, no good assignments, and ignoring any bill he files.
Let the sleazy little bastard QUIT.

Let Israel pay his salary. That's his only constituent.

21. This thread is dripping with veiled anti semetism
The stance taken by the OP has everything to do with Liebermen being a jew.

It's disgusting.

Pure filth.

Not a Jew. Take your false accusations away. They are disgusting. Pure filth.

We see this kind of defensive shit every time Israel or Lieberman is criticized.

24. I'd say I just hit the nail on the head
I suppose that's why no one is suggesting that McCain be sent out of the country and made Ambasador to Israel either. Not to mention Hillary Clinton who has also advocated a few Neo Con causes as well.

You're attacks on Lieberman as a Zionist are attacks on Liebermen as a Jew. It's despicable and anyone with two braincells to rub together can clearly sniff it out.

26. I suppose you've run off
As long a I'm around I'm gonna call this bullshit out.

The rise in anti semitism has gotten ridiculous as of late and I'm beyond sick of it. Just like racists use "immigration" as vehicle to plant their seeds anti semites like to use "Zionism" and "Israel" as theirs. Oh, and I am more than capable of figuring out when it's a valid critism of Zionism vs an opportunity to bash jews.
