Time to reclaim the symbols.
All of a sudden, for the first time in my life, I'm tempted to put up a flagpole and start flying the flag. I'd also like to get a little flag with the Obama logo to fly on one side of my car with the US flag on the other side.

2. Jackpine, that flag was always ours.
It was grossly misrepresented for eight years.

I always flew the flag on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July
MLK's birthday, etc.

But I hear ya- I'm proud to be an American and
very proud of my President-elect for the first
time in eight very long years.

6. I've been flying a flag for years
Not only is it beautiful, it's a statement that I'm as patriotic as the next guy.
Understand that my town went for McCain. I'm used to defending my patriotism as a democrat around here.
