Newt Gingrich 2012? No, they're seriously considering it
Anyone remember Newt Gingrich? Well, if you did, he is being thought of as a possible candidate for the 2012 election http://voices.washingtonpost.com/postpartisan/2008/11/newt_in_2012.html . AHAHAHAHA should we be scared? Is he a viable candidate? He will be 68 in 2012, making him only 4 years younger then than John McCain now. Not to mention, he'll have been out of government for 13 years by then. He also cheated on two wifes, took kickback money from Bob Dole, and much else.

1. Obama would win 40 states. Newt is a wholly unappealing person.
Smart guy, but just comes across as a real ass.

4. I thought he would run this year, then I thought he would be the VP pick.
I wouldn't be surprised if they went with him in 2012.

6. Jesus Christ on a potato chip.
Who cares about 2012. President Obama has a huge mess to clean up between now and then, and worrying or even thinking about who his potential opponent will be is just stupid. I just saw another thread (a poll) asking who folks thought Sarah Palin will choose as her running mate in 2012. Maybe it's time for a "Potential 2012 Republican Presidential Candidate Forum".

8. If Obama is very popular, it'll be Gingrich.
They'll do a Dole and use an elder 'statesman' to serve as an electoral punch bag while nurturing younger whackos for 2016.

10. nah,
not a chance. Gingrich is seen as the "Godfather" of the Republican party... but he's just as "smear-able" as Palin.

No, the Republican nominee for '12 will be a fresh face. It will be a Jindal-ish sorta' Thune kinda guy.

11. if
the Republican party was smart... they'd morph Ron Paul with someone young and charismatic like Jindal and install it inside of a character like Dennis Miller.

I think the fundies will lose their control of the party to the conservative purists...

12. Any speaker of the house/senate majority leader = horrible presidential candidate
Seriously, zero speakers of the house or majority leaders of the senate have been elected president, zero.

It's not for lack of trying either, Henry Clay, speaker of the house in his time, ran for president 4 different times, and lost every single time.

14. Please! They could lose all 50 states! Then their best choice would be to
re-animate Ronald Reagan.

One Repuke "strategist" on TV even went so far as to suggest McCain might even make another run! At age 76? Sure, why not!

18. Start now on reminding people...
about the circumstances of Gingrich's divorce with his first wife. Yeah, remember? He shoved divorce papers in her face when she was in the hospital recovering from uterine cancer surgery and pumped full of drugs.

The MSM in its current state is gonna "neglect" to remind viewers and listeners of this little story, so it's up to us netheads.
