Polish Lawmaker Slurs Obama: Left's 'Black Messiah ... End Of White Civilization'

WARSAW, Poland — Poland's Foreign Ministry has condemned a conservative lawmaker who called U.S. president-elect Barack Obama the "black messiah of the new left" and said his victory marks the "end of the civilization of the white man."

Artur Gorski is a little-known member of the opposition right-wing Law and Justice party. He made the remark to parliament on Wednesday, a day after Obama's historic victory as America's first African-American president.

The Foreign Ministry condemned the remark in a statement Sunday and said it will urge Parliament's Ethics Committee to review the case.

Ministry spokesman Piotr Paszkowski says he doesn't know what kind of punishment Gorski could face, but said the government wants to emphasize that it regards the remark as unacceptable.

However, I have a question? What is it with the right wing and this messiah business? No one on the left wing has mentioned this crap. But every right winger from here to the ends of the earth refer to Obama as a Messiah.

And the rest of the neo con wingnuts have latched onto it. If I remember correctly it started when a caller phoned his show (during the start of the primaries) and asked why the media was falling in love with Barack Obama and basically treating Hillary like crap. Rush responded with some hate filled diatribe about how the media are anointing Obama as the man to bring change to the country, blah blah blah, and then he stated something to the effect of "They believe he is the new Messiah." The next day on his show he was using the term "messiah" to preface ever statement about Barack Obama. He has continued to call him "the messiah" ever since.

continue civilizing white men. A lot of them, most those on the right, have such a long way to go before they can be considered civilized. Then again, the same is true of woman, mostly on the right. Here's hoping someone civilizes the right!

BTW, the American right seems to hate the rest of the world. This guy may change that single-handedly. Their new, maybe first international hero. Or was that Blair, aka "co-criminal?"

From Eastern Europe/former Soviet States is why Western Europe treats their recent immigrants like crap. I'm typing as a someone who visits Europe a LOT and has friends in Palermo, Dusseldorf, Dublin, Amsterdam, Lyons, Paris, Nice, and St. Tropez. <------ They have their own problems/issues . . . but it's this 'crap' that makes them look down their nose at Eastern Europeans.
