I was as anti-Clinton during the primaries as anyone..... she'd make a GREAT SoS choice

1. She is well-liked around the world. She'd have foreign leaders eating out of the palm of her hand.

2. It's a good reward for all her hard work on the campaign.

3. It shows the strength of Obama's character, that he's willing to put a former rival in one of the more powerful positions in the government.

4. She will be working at the pleasure of the POTUS. Obama is in charge, she'd be working FOR him. It's that simple.

5. Most importantly.... it would drive the right-wingers in this country absolutely bat-shit crazy. That's NEVER a bad thing. ;-)

3. Not a high-profile position. Quick.. name the past 5 HHS heads...

You can't.

But I bet you can name the past 5 State heads...

2. Her "obliterate Iran" should disqualify her for consideration.
There are plenty of Democrats more qualified and more deserving.

5. What supports the idea that she is well-liked around the world?
She will have no credibility in the Middle East, esp. after threatening to obliterate Iran. She has no known negotiation skills, and the history of the health care proposal suggests she is not tempermentally inclined toward negotiation.

She's a smart, hard-working person, but there are many smart, hard-working people, some of whom have more background in foreign policy and don't have baggage from political campaigns.

6. I seem to remember her pissing off a number of foriegn countries.
Her fabrications about snipers upset a lot of Bosnians. I remember that.

There were others in addition to that and her anti-Iran comments, although I can't remember at the moment.
