"A source with knowledge of the transition process describes the meeting as not a hard offer"
Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 07:01 PM by Cosmic Charlie
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/11/details-on-hill.html

This meeting was likely to determine whether Hillary is willing to be vetted for the position.

This seemed to be part of the hold-up with her being in the running for VP.

She now has a chance to decide whether she will go through the process, including Bill, or decline consideration.

'No hard offer' means he didn't ask her to be SOS, he asked if she was willing to be considered and vetted.

All the rest is just selective leaking to create a narrative.

CNN reports no offer:

1. I guess by now everyone has heard about Richardson's SOS interview
Now tell me, why would they interview Bill if they had already given Hill the job??

Answer: They wouldn't.

7. On CNN they said it was so he would be a backup.
I wonder how Richardson's supporters like that idea> If true, that's not a way you treat someone who supported you.

2. How come she needs to be vetted? The woman is the most investigated person on the planet.
That said, I doubt she will take it.

3. There have been LOADS of (innocuous) business dealings and meetings with foreign leaders -
primarily by Bill that would need to be cleared....

And just the IDEA of being able to raise the spectre of Clinton wrongdoing at hearings in congress make Phil Graham pop a little chubby....

4. WRONG. The Clinton's have been protected from many lines of investigation because of their status.
IMHO they deserve to be protected out of respect for the office and the good they do for the country, but I, for one, am aware of many rumors regarding financial matters and personal affairs that have been kept out of public view by the MSM, similarly to how John Edwards activities were well known but not revealed until a slime-rag got hard evidence.

5. What meeting? There was no meeting.
I can't believe the media over anything and you want us to believe an anonymous source for this same media?

Un huh...
