"The charges against CBS...." I hope they learned something.
That's how Tony Snow of Fox News frameds the AWOL controversy.

CBS is guilty. It's CBS's fault. CBS is in the dock.

No matter that one of the most respected news broadcasts in history. This is not about the subject of their story.

CBS's crime was to report somethi9ng unfavorable to Bush. They have been Clarked, O'Neiled, Wilsoned.

I hope CBS still has enough people with gonads to remember this episode. I hope there's enopugh who are so angry at the way they have been made the story by the Bush bastards that they grit their teeth and snarl "Oh yeah? Fuck those guys. Nobody messes with us like that."

Maybe it will inspire them to become real reporters again.

1. The other networks just screwed themseleves
They are competing for 40% of the people that watch fox

What they have done, is now encourage the moderates, progressives, liberals, etc. to watch CBS

This is not over

CBS maybe the only network who is now coming out of the darkness

This might have a snowball effect

2. Brilliant move on the part of CBS
When ALL media outlets just sound like every other media outlet, and all of them are beginning to adhere to the FAUX mold, CBS breaks out of the pack and does some SENSATIONAL investivative journalism. Now the story is out there and, as long as CBS has their ducks in a row, every other media outlet is gonna look like a fucking TOOL.

Way to go Dan!

3. I REALLY hope that one outcome of this is that the CBS journalists
(1) become completely convinced that Hillary Clinton is right about the vast, RW conspiracy, and that its minions are working their pretty little heads off to retain power this campaign, which means lying, cheating, stealing, smearing, or anything else necessary;

(2) that they will be VERY suspicious of anything charged by * and friends and not report ANY of it without double-triple-quadruple fact checking;

(3) that they get ANGRY about how a smear attempt on THEM has been made and understand that the same thing is happening to the Democrats and it is TIME to call them on it.

(4) that their anger makes them very aggressive about seeking out stories on what we are really dealing with in this election, and bringing it to the American people LOUDLY and CLEARLY.

9. If Rather isn't furious about this, he gave a good imitatiion of it
The broadcast will load automatically at http://bushlies2.us/ if you happened to miss it.

I think if they hadn't realized this is WAR, they do now.

Those freeper morons have done nothing but give them an excuse to expand on the story.

5. I don't believe the memos were forged
That said, I hope CBS can obtain the original memo, that would put egg on the face of the doubters who say with such certainty 'forgery'.

6. Is the mainstream media getting fed up?
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 07:52 PM by Jade Fox
Unlike many on this board I don't see them as being in the pocket of the
Right, at least not entirely. I think they have been bullied and guilt-tripped
for years about their supposedly liberal bias, and I think that like a lot of
people they got stupid after 9-11.

More than anything I hope this situation with Dan Rather being bullied and
questioned make the real journalists in the media mad as hell, and in the
mood not to take it anymore. These Rightwing thugs never think they can
go too far, and they may have gone too far this time.

7. I often wonder why these broadcasters are not trying to find out who
sent them anthrax...I am sure it has something to do with this administration and to scare them.
