Coming Soon: The Michelle Obama Style Guide
Avon A books, an imprint of Harper Collins, has announced its plans to produce a style guide to the fashion of the future First Lady. Avon A says the “guide will be a four-color trade paperback, and will include design sketches, tips on how to achieve Obama’s iconic style, and numerous related sidebar fashion features.” The book will be written by Mandi Norwood, award winning Editor, author of Sex & The Married Girl, and contributor to numerous magazines and television shows.

If there is any question as to exactly what the hoopla surrounding Mrs. Obama is all about, this eye-popping photo in Paris Match should answer any remaining question.

1. She's so lovely...and so classy! I'm so happy that we will have
both a President and a First Lady of whom we can be proud for a change!
And of course, it's not just her looks or her style that will do us proud - she's a brilliant and accomplished woman in her own right.

2. I love it.
I think it's nice that the Obamas are sort of getting "celeb-y" --- it'll humanize them. They're the new First Family. :D

According to Mrs. O

I am not even a clothes person but this dress is just breathtaking. Can you imagine this on Michelle? I can see the heads turning as she enters the room wearing that.

7. She is gorgeous with her hair swept back or up like that.
And I LOVE the brown and sage green on her.

Leibovitz? Seriously. Michelle done MADE it to da bigtime! Michelle Obama is the first African-American First Lady of the United States - and a beautiful one at that. She will be a historic icon.

13. Does this woman ever look less than sensational?
I went to law school with her, knew who she was, though I didn't know her personally, and she's vastly more striking now than she was then.

14. Achieve her look??
Snort . I'm a size 18 and hopelessly Caucasian - I can get a sunburn just walking by a tanning booth. Besides, she's unique: other women should be discouraged from trying this at home. Michelle goes beyond eye-candy: she's the most stunningly gorgeous First Lady ever. Not one woman in a thousand could look as good in her clothes, but I expect we'll see as many try it as tried dressing like Jackie back in the sixties.

Now if they would only put half the effort into being as smart...

17. I noticed on 60 Minutes that she's lightened her eyebrows
Which is probably a good choice because they are really too arched and accentuate the angularity of her face. Her face requires a more flattened arch than she has now. But I'm sure that will be resolved over time.

She's really a lovely woman.

18. That's her most distinctive feature
It's what sets her apart. Malia has the same eyebrows. She should never touch those eyebrows.

Apparently the photo in Paris Match is taken from the Annie Leibovitz photo shoot for Vogue.

Another photo from that session:

22. I love the way she dresses.
I like the way she shows her arms like an American woman. She doesn't dress like she's about to jump on the next plane to Saudi Arabia.

23. Earlier in the year, a WSJ writer commented that she channeled Jackie Kennedy
with sleeveless shirts, a pearls choker and even some suits.
