It will, at the very least, reopen all the post- "did not pick Hillary for veep" wounds all over again.

3. This is why I don't understand why his campaign is leaking this. They should
have kept it quiet until it was finalized.

13. I would have thought they'd have shut this down, and quickly, by now.
They haven't--it's hard to know what to make of this.

4. Who cares -- she either chooses it or teh SEnate

Win-win for PE Obama, the nation, and us.

I've been offered jobs before that I've turned down.

I don't understand how this will make him look bad -- HRC will release a statement saying why she wants to stay in the Senate. Not a big deal at all. Except for those wanting it to be.

5. If it falls through it wouldn't be Obama's fault
just another case of the Clintons being too fucking complicated for words. No biggie.

8. I seriously doubt whether it will either be percieved or be portrayed that way ....
the main point against Obama will be, fair or not, "he should have seen it coming"

7. A short term hit up front versus unending headaches down the road?

I think that is what I'd call a no-brainer.

11. Wrong. It looks like many DUers suffer from worry-addiction.
Perhaps these folks will look fondly back to those warm, fuzzy B*sh years when he stuffed his Cabinet with political cronies, yes-men/women, incompetents and criminals. They'll miss the guy who used our Constitution as toilet paper, denied Science and slaughtered over a million innocents because he wanted to one-up his Daddy.

Jeez Louise. People here don't appreciae how damned good things are right now. Clinton is the Cabinet? Big f*cking deal. The RW media will buzz around her and leave Obama alone.

14. Frankly, I don't remember that many wounds from Hillary not being chosen VP.
There were some who were pushing for the "unity" ticket, but I don't think very many were really expecting it.

I have seen many posters discussing this issue that I know supported Hillary during the primaries (myself included) and they are going to be OK with Obama's choice whether it's Hillary or someone else. I'm more concerned about the ardent Obama supporters who have been upset that she is even being considered for the position.

16. The whole thing would be quickly forgotten. The Hillary "drama" is in people's MINDS.
I think people in the media HAVE THIS IDEA of what Hillary would think and do, and then project their petty expectations on her.

I think the best example was how she did NOT fight with Obama after the last primary, and she quickly turned around with clear support for him and worked harder than anyone of the other primary candidates to get him elected.

But that doesn't seem to count for much.

17. SoS or the Senate- She will be wonderful in either one.
I wasn't upset when Biden was picked for VP- He is a good choice and a good balance for Obama.

Isn't worrying about something like that a bit silly?

19. No. First of all, there has been no official offer. Second of all, most of us Hillary supporters
aren't as passionate about her as SOS as we were about VP. Sure, if Obama wants her as SOS and she wants to be SOS I'll be happy for her and approve of the choice, but I'm also fine with her remaining a Senator (which ain't exactly nothin').
