THE END OF THE APOCALYPSE: THE WORLD HAS A NEW BEGINNING
THE END OF THE APOCALYPSE: THE WORLD HAS A NEW BEGINNING

The question is being raised as to which nation will be the world’s next “great” superpower. It is the wrong question. It is the same type of wrong question that Democrats, in a now Democrat governed America, have been thinking of within their own country. There there was a enthusiastically welcomed proposal that a picture of Barack Obama be put in every school classroom for children to see. Something to idolize and venerate, the way Hollywood stars are idolized and venerated ? I suggested in response to that idea that America has been overturned, and has it all backwards. I suggested that no one man’s picture ought to be in school classrooms. Instead, something representative of “we the people”, and consistent with the constitution and the Declaration of Independence, so cherished as specious instruments against oppression, within Ameirca’s history. “We the people” should be above Mr. Barack Obama, who is but one man, even if in the nation’s highest office. He too serves “we the people” and children in American classrooms need to be taught, as does all of America, that America is about “we the people”, not about demagogues, executive office dictators, reliant on secret executive orders, circumventing the nation’s Senate, Congress and “we the people”, as if it is a nation forever at war within itself and with the world beyond its borders.

Better yet, if that symbol, replacing Mr. Barack Obama’s portrait, rather than being something such as a gilded copy of the nation’s constitution, were to be something representative of the fact that America is part of a world community. It is not simply “we the people” of the United States of America, anymore. America must truly globalize itself politically. Not as dictator to “we the people” of the world, but as a participant, servant, of the world community. In the same way as Mr. Barack Obama must take on the role of servant of “we the people” of the United States of America, responsible and accountable to them, America must take on the role of servant of “we the people” of the world community, as a member not a covertly operating dictatorship, with overt overwhelming force of arms, and reliance on the world’s most advanced technologies for brain washing, for subliminal persuasion, for mind control, and forcing its often overvalued and often factually contrary or baseless beliefs, irrational and unscientific beliefs, about right and truth, along with archaic and dysfunctional traditional practices, its systemic abuse, upon the world population. America must become responsible, accountable, to the world community. America does not have a monopoly on right and truth. America certainly has shown that it lacks any monopoly on what is good for the people of the world today and for humanity’s improved future. The world is not America’s market place. The world is not America’s bride, to be forced to submit to it, while America takes the pearl from its oyster. America has to learn a new role in the world very different from how it perceived itself in the 20th century. The world community is no longer going to accept being held accountable and responsible to America. America does not govern the world.

While the consititution of the United States of America is a flawed and imperfect, an ideological, document, it has something to offer in terms of some wisdom and some partial truth worthy of consideration by all, but where that decisively stops is where intent is discerned as to dividing the people of the United States off as something special, something more chosen, something more naturally privileged and no longer “created equal” with all the other men and women of the world community. That was not the intent of those who first considered the question, but it has become the way that Americans have begun to understand their own.

All “created equal” and truths about humanity that are self evident, real human freedoms of association, expression, the press, cultural freedoms, only become possible when the world community as a whole learns its own solidarity, to stand against a “superpower”. World, people of the world, do not look for a new superpower. Do not seek to make one nation your idol, your leader, your demagogue. We enter an era when that type of dictatorship is at an end. It must remain at an end forever. Just as the picture of Mr. Barack Obama must never be an idol in every classroom in America, because that is the wrong idea and teaches the wrong lesson, similarly no one nation should be depicted and raised above all others in the world community. No one nation should stand above and be allowed to dictate to the others. Only in that way is the good of the world more truly served. As Ameica must be made low, in the eyes of the world, for taking a stance above all others, and above all else, so too must any other nation, who seeks to force upon all the other’s its own beliefs, ideology, means and methods. Instead the world community must begin to turn towards rational, clear thinking, science. It must turn to the facts, and to what is best for humanity. The world must be build on a solid foundation of scientific reason, clear rational thinking, responsible and accountable decision making, openness and truth. Social and political justice cannot be achieved otherwise, and the world would remain war locked forever if it followed America’s way.

We enter an era when no one nation can dictate its will onto the world community. Now the United Nations has its best opportunity in support of human rights. Now it has its best opportunity to further its role as peace keeper. An opportunity for all of the members of the world community to responsibly and equally share in that role. The world community needs a policeman. Every community needs a policeman, or it descends into chaos, violence, and is taken over by the worst elements in any society. America will not be that policeman, but it Americans might be members of that United Nations police force, meant to protect innocents, and civil order, to preserve and further basic ideals of human rights and freedoms. Where a member of the world community has gone wrong, it is up to that community to step in and correct that situation for the sake of the good of humanity. Where a leader has gone wrong, it is up to that community to take that leader to task and make that leader responsible for actions and accountable to the world community and its fundamental principles of justice.

This is an era when the European Union can exert greater influence of reason in a new Renaissance of scientific and cultural progress. The EU, as its members, have much to offer, based on millenia of painful experience and a persistent quest for the truth. Its unrelented concern with method, has come from its own history of conflict locked pain and from its struggle with irrational extremes within its own geographic region. Its philosophical foundation, its wisdom, is derivative from that long experience, striving to find its way out of the darkness into the light. It knows it must never become a dictator.

In this era extremism and divisiveness, can be overcome by rational reliance on fact based truth, no longer tainted with blind American faith. It is a time to further the good of all humanity, welcoming the end of a war locked 20th century.

The apocalypse is over. The end is no longer near. America has not won. This is the beginning.

Robert Morpheal

4. Nice read
I share your enthusiasm, but with a bit of cynicism mixed in. The last eight years have been long, and putting faith into politicians is very difficult. But, as you say, we shall see...
