What Did You Think, When Cheney Picked Himself For VP, And...
what do you think about that move now???

At the time, I thought, what an egotistical SOB. He looked high and low, all across the country, and found that the best person for the job... was himself???

Then the punditry piped in with the fact the GW needed to add some 'heft' to the ticket to counter-act the lightweight image GW was suffering from.

Then they stole the election and started to assemble their administration, populating it with all of DICK's buddies from Reagan\Bush I.

Then they started to 'govern'.

Then I joined DU and some smart DUer wondered allowed what sort of 'dirt' Unca Dick collected as he vetted all the other 'contenders' for the VP slot, and if that dirt was being used to stifle criticism within the rePuke party.

Then I learned about PNAC (from DU, bless you all) and it all started to make some very scary sense.

I guess where I'm going with this is: Normally, people don't vote for VP while in the voting booth, therefore they normally don't vote against a ticket because of the VP.

But if Cheney hadn't picked himself, would we have Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Feith, Negroponte, Poindexter, et.al??? Would * been listening to the PNAC crowd in any case? Would we be fighting in Iraq right now?

The buck stops at the office, the oval office, it's designed that way by the constitution. Harry Truman knew it and said so. rePuke presidents act like nothing is their fault. So while I hold GW in contempt of office and the constitution, or just in plain old contempt, I'll be voting based on the VP as well.

Unca Dick led GW to an ill advised, illegal, and immoral war in Iraq. And Unca Dick has subverted the constitution over and over again. And now he is terrorizing the country into voting for him and his little hand-puppet.

Let's show 'em the door.

1. Don't forget the flunkies
"Then they stole the election and started to assemble their administration, populating it with all of DICK's buddies from Reagan\Bush I."

Don't forget the flunkies like Tommy Thomson, Spence Abraham and John Ashcroft; all voted out of office by their own states and basically a slap in the face to America. If you were paying attention, you had to know where they were headed after that.
