Loretta Sanchez on MSNBC. WTH is wrong with Democrats?

She was basically on MSNBC claiming Obama is going to have problems moving his policies with the Hispanic Caucus. If he doesn't name what they feel is enough Hispanics in his cabinet.

First of all, I was completely speechless by this. Second of all, why is it that Democrats can't wait to eat their own? And why should Obama have to name people based on their gender or race? And the nerve of a sitting congresswoman throwing out an ultimatum like that. I'm glad to see she plans to vote on policy based on what cabinet picks are made.

Also isn't this the woman who refused to support Obama unless he personally asked her?

How many Hispanics to her seemed to translate to how many Hispanics MUST be in the new Obama Administration.

I lived in CA when she made her initial stunning victory against that asshat Dornan.

It was a good and new day.

That was many years ago and I think she has gotten carried away with herself.

When she said that she wasn't sure if she was going to vote for Obama or not because he hadn't PERSONALLY CALLED HER, I was still in a sour mood that Clinton had lost.....but hearing this drivel from her was a seminal moment for me.....I found her so ridiculous and so arrogant and so petty.....did she call EVERY SINGLE VOTER THAT HAS VOTED FOR HER?????....

So, basically, thanks Ms. Sanchez, your shrill ridiculouness turned me over night into a ardent champion of Barack Obama.

Loretta Sanchez is fucking nuts - she proved that during the Convention when she kept vying for airtime to claim that she still wasn't going to support Obama even after Hillary gave that great speech at the convention.

However, Linda Sanchez is amazing. She was always a supporter of Obama and definately a great democrat (she has always been a democrat whereas Loretta started out in politics as a republican first).

So when I see a statement 'Ms Sanchez is fucking nuts' I kinda want to point out that we should just say Loretta Sanchez since Ms Sanchez could refer to either of the Sanchez sisters in congress. I think Linda is going to have a strong future in the democrat party but Loretta is going to fade to obscurity. Loretta has taken the gun and shot herself in the foot and then blames everyone else for it other than herself.

Linda lives in my neighborhood, our dogs are park chums:) She is wonderful, and I hope people realize what a hard working Democrat she is and don't confuse her with her confused sibling.

As an aside, they lost a brother recently... my heart goes out to both of them. The holidays must be tough this year.

heh....I had to laugh that her first suggestion for a post was her sister! But besides that, she definitely had a threatening tone in her voice that I thought was really inappropriate. And MSNBC is using that to really push the "Hispanics are pissed at Obama and the Richardson post is a step down". Thank god they had Maria Teresa on with Andrea to set her straight a little.

He won. He's got massive majorities in both houses of Congress. Rarely does a President get this kind of opportunity.

Also, reading in Wiki, Loretta started as a republican but switched to democrat whereas Linda has always been a democrat.

I think there's an equation for this where you can calculate how may cabinet positions need to be filled based on one's genetic and/or ancestral makeup.

I can't quite recall, but it involves...

The percentage of that population that in the US, the percentage that voted, the percentage that you received, the percentage of that population's representation in congress, the positions appointed (ranked by line of succession so a Sec. of State is worth more than Veterans Affairs, but a Sec. Defense and Treasury is worth more than a SOS), and Pi.

Based on his current appointments, I'm not sure where he's going to get a 1/4 Inuit, 1/2 Chinese American, 1/4 Huguenot Hud Secretary.

Either that, or he could just try and get the best available people.
