**CBS REVEALS ITS SOURCE - New Killian Memos Released**
Edited on Sun Sep-12-04 09:16 AM by indyjones1938
People are claiming that there are two new memos out at:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-09-09bushdocs.pdf

I believe they would be 1 and 5, correct?

Now, take a good look at document 5. Are any of you thinking what I'm thinking? Did CBS just not only bury the forgery claims, but slyly reveal their source?

EDIT: see below

Can someone follow my thinking here? Check the dates on memos 5 and 5, and then reread memo 5 again. Tell me if you see it too.

30. Feb 72 - June 73

Ratings period; puts this at Year and a half if I'm reading this right.

Also, the "Advise me how we are supposed to handle this" is somewhat telling.

2. "His recent activity is outside the rating period."
Whoa, I know what that means. He has an annual report. Whatever he did, the "activity", is beyond the yearly report. This is huge. They are planning not to use it in his evaluation with the simple excuse it didn't fall in the rating period. They weren't going to address it in his report at that time.

Not even that.

These two new documents (1 and 5) were released very quietly for a reason. Read memos 5 and 6 in order, then reread memo 5. Unbelievable. CBS just brilliantly revealed their source! Rather has beaten the pulp out of Drudge, CNN and all the other media whores.

10. Even better
Rather's source is BOBBY HODGES himself! No wonder Hodges is backpedaling now. Unfuckingbelievable. Rather is pulling out his trump card.

(1) Read this new memo #5. It's obviously a letter from Killian to one of his superiors. The date is late June, 1973. He's telling this superior that he can't evaluate Bush because he hasn't shown up, and asks the superior what to do about it.

(2) It logically follows that Bush was contacted by either Killian or this superior sometime after the letter was written in late June, 1973. Bush realizes that he's in hot water and starts "talking to someone upstairs."

(3) Within a few weeks, Killian's superior writes back to him telling him to let Bush off the hook.

(4)Pissed off and suspicious, Killian "Covers His Ass" a few weeks later by writing that personal memo, in which he indicates that HODGES has been pressured by Staudt to let Bush off the hook. So Hodges was obviously the superior who Killian had written in late June, and Staudt was the one who Bush (or Poppy) had contacted sometime between that letter in late June and August.

(5) Since the #5 memo was written to Hodges (and SIGNED) by Killian, it HAD to have come from Hodges' files.

It's almost 100% certain that Bobby Hodges was Rather's source for these memos, or at least most of them, and now Hodges is backpedaling because the BFEE is on his back.

85. Carbon copies
Excuse me, but there is a product called "carbon paper" that Killian's secretary probably would have used to produce a copy for Killian's file. If Killian preferred to keep exact duplicates of what he sent in correspondence, particularly those addressed to his superiors, then all he had to do was sign the letters with the carbon paper still in place.

I would likely have done that, and today I often photocopy my correspondence after having signed it, which is equivalent.

I've seen nothing to indicate that these papers could not have come from Killian's file.

Now we are all in the same boat as those two officers long ago. It has become clear that Bush really was AWOL.

Do we turn our backs on this fact? Or do we face up to the truth that the commander-in-chief* was, and is, a Major Shirker -- and is thus unfit for command.

63. USA Today lists this as the memos from Rather's story but doesn't
say that there are new ones included in its attachment.

Why?

Do they not realize they have new info there or does nobody care because they are still saying they are forged?

I haven't heard anyone mention on any shows the US news article or ask about why * didn't sign up in Mass like he was supposed to. These two issues don't require any connection to the Rather memos, do they?

I think it's like a Tai Chi move. If your opponent is charging you like a bull, do you punch a bull in the nose, or step aside at the last minute?

A lot more documents are going to be coming out soon. Sequentially numbered daily unit reports ought to leave less for the imagination. :)

14. Rather just shot the forgery claims to pieces
Something I'd wondered about before was why CBS had simply read the docs to Hodges over the phone instead of letting him view them. Now it all makes sense. Either Hodges is backpedaling because his life has been threatened by the BFEE, or he and Rather are playing all the other media networks like a fiddle. Wait for the forgery charges, let them spread, THEN release your trump card and make asses of them!

This new #5 memo is the missing piece of the puzzle. That's why USAToday made sure to add it in chronological order. Bets are 100:1 that Rather has OTHER documents. unfuckingbelievable.

19. Trust Us Texan Rather Knows What He is Doing! - READ THE DIRT!
HERE’S “INSIDE SKINNY” ON THE RATHER-BUSH/GOP SMACKDOWN!

Dan Rather is a Texas native. He was born and raised outside Houston and then after completing college, cut his television journalist teeth at a National network station in Houston.

He took on the Bush Family "Texas Mafia"(BFTM) several times in the early 70's, and this current situation is more of the "blood feud" between he and H.W. Bush. Dan Rather is very solid, a real pro, first-class credibility (unlike those flake GOP-ops reporters at Fox), and will NOT back down from a deal that he knows he is right. I/we have never seen Dan do it once in 35 years!

The Bush Family Texas Mafia (BFTM) tries to destroy anyone that takes them on, hell just look at their damn track record. You all know this!

More importantly, we will make some phone calls on this deal, and in particular if CBS “60 Minutes” has something cooking to bag the BFTM on several matters we are aware. We keep hearing "little things" on this subject, plus the Washington Post has been digging on this next deal for over a year.

It has to do with the Bush Family corruption, documents the Fed accidentally discovered at Enron (which was a Bush Family business "front operation"), and Bush's "War Dog" House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (Houston) being under a massive Texas criminal grand jury investigation, for fraud, bribery, extortion, money laundering, and criminal abuse of his political office.

The big kicker is Bob “$200,000 donor to O’Neill’s SBVT” Perry (Houston) is involved with DeLay in his criminal enterprise and we mean BIG TIME! Also eleven (11) other BFTM members are involved, in varying degree, including the Texas Governor and other ranking elected State officials, and many of them could go to jail over this deal.

The BFTM is doing everything possible to keep the lid on it, and also get W elected. BFTM needs W elected so he can do Presidential Pardons for BFTM Enron buddies, (Ken Lay), DeLay, Perry, and others that get convicted and sent to prison over this massive criminal enterprise.

That in a nutshell is what’s going on with all the Bush-Cheney-GOP totally outright fraud in their campaign. They don’t have a platform to run on, so the con and fraud game is all they got!

They are going nuts because Rather stuck his nose in it. If you recall Dan Rather has stayed pretty neutral in his reporting on the O’Neill-SBVT fraud scam. We know, what I just delineated, because we are well connected Republicans, have several influential Houstonians in our “Beat Bush” cartel, along with two Houston criminal attorney’s – NKR

PS: It should be noted that CBS is owned by Viacom. 70-75% of campaign donations by Viacom (VIA) executives and its political action committee, have gone to the Democratic Party and its candidates. Just some interest info, nothing else!

The key is in the two new memos that were released. #5 and #6, when studied carefully, reveal that Gen. Bobby Hodges was almost certainly Rather's "unimpeachable source."

#1 about James Bath is the logical followup to this - and maybe the answer to Rather's "why" questions.

100:1 that Rather has other documents, and that he and Hodges are playing that media like a fiddle. Rather was smart. He got all his ducks in a row and held his trump card until the last minute. good for him.

I still think that he needs to focus on his own personal policies that will lead this country is a different direction.

87. YES !!
Bush has already said Kerry served honorably. What's Bush going to do, say he changed his mind?

Kerry must make this an issue, in my opinion.

33. Forward this information to all the news sources because so far they
seem to be (as usual) completely clueless.

40. When I click on the link in the original post,
I get to download a PDF document. I have no PDF reader, nor do I want one. How can I get to the document on the USAToday website...I just went there, and cannot find it. What were the comments of USA Today on the 5th memo? Why hasn't anyone picked this up? Where online can I view this document and explanations of it (other than here, of course)???

41. The PDF reader is FREE-there's no reason for you not to have it
to read PDFs, plus you won't be able to read them UNLESS you get the FREE reader (go to http://www.adobe.com )

are NOT on the USA Today website? Are they anywhere?

45. They are on the USAToday website in PDF format-you can't read
them unless you have a PDF reader, that's the TYPE of file they are. It wouldn't matter if they were on some other website, they would STILL be PDFs.

46. They are on the link provided at the top of this thread
But, you need Adobe Reader to view the documents. Unfortunately, you can't cut and paste from Adobe Reader; otherwise I would do that for you. The documents really do seem to back up what people are saying in this thread.

54. Sure you can
You can either use the text or graphics select tool, highlight what you want, then copy and paste away.

These memos have no text in them, so use the graphics select tool and save the contents as a jpeg.

61. Ann, there is nothing "wrong" with the Adobe PDF format or reader.
A PDF (portable document file) is a standard document format used by just about every business on the planet. It is an easy way to package a document for easy display on any computer system. It is an easy way to package CAD drawings and picture files for easy display, and it provides some security features to allow viewing without allowing loss of embedded intelligence or vital details. Many help and FAQ files are in PDF form. the PDF is as ubiquitous as the HTML file you are viewing right now.

Downloading and installing a PDF viewer is easy. Go to:

www.adobe.com/acrobat

and look for the free version. Installation is easy.

The program is not spyware and does not contain spam. It does not affect your computer. It WILL allow you to see many of the files that are so important to discussions on this forum and elsewhere.

You don't know me, but I have an extensive history with computers. I ask that you trust me on this. Acrobat Reader is as necessary a tool for your computer as is your Internet browser and your word processor.

66. AnnInLa . . .
. . . having a PDF reader is as necessary as having a browser. You really need to get one and they're free. You can either use the Reader application separately or install the plug-in for your specific browser and the files will open in your browser window. PDF stands for 'portable document format'. It's becoming the standard in the industry. You're going to miss out on a lot of information if you avoid it for much longer.

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

If you don't want to download it from Adobe, you get it from CNET or Tucows or a number of other places. Just type 'Adobe Acrobat Reader free download' into google and take your pick.

70. There are two good things here, imo
One, that another media outlet is looking at content not controversy re faux forgery stuff and;

Two, the 4 memos from CBS have not been proven to be forgeries in ANY way and, indeed, two more have been added that help clarify time lines, etc.

82. A couple of ways to get to the bottom of this...
- Imprison Bush indefinitely without benefit of legal council.

- Employ sleep deprivation tactics.

- Make him pose nude and take photos of Bush in an aroused state. Theaten to publish the photos on the cover of the NY Times and Washington Post unless he tells us why he missed his annual physical.

- Hell, let's just round up Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Feith, Libby, Bremer, and all the rest of the neocon architects of our Adventures in Iraq. Strip 'em naked, arrange them in a human pyramid, take photos, and see if anyone starts singing like a canary.

89. It's amazing...
...three wingnut bloggers blow smoke out their asses that the Killian memos were forged, and the entire media willingly obliges to do their dirty work for them. Meanwhile, did any of these same media lapdogs bother to investigate and report on the fact that not a single claim of the Shit Boat Vermin for Lies had the slightest relationship to the truth? Unfuckinbelievable.
