Obama needs to answer NOTHING!!!!!!!! in the Illinois Governor's case
So the media needs to shut up on this trying to link Obama to this case. This is how the game is played in the media they ask you to answer questions and when you do they follow up and say you didn't say enough on the issue at hand and act like your hiding something that's what's happening to Jesse JR. they said he needs to say something and when he holds a press conference and says he's not envolved in any way the media comes out and say QUOTE: HE'S BEING DEFENSIVE!!!

1. true, they WOULD say he was being "defensive", and they probably will say that today
And now Contessa Brewer is on tv trying to act like freaking Nancy Drew.

2. Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. The right wing is grabbing at straws
like a drowning man. I say let them continue to marginalize themselves. They cry wolf over everything, even when it doesn't connect. Pretty soon, no one is going to listen to them because people are sick of the hatred.

They lost and they need to get over it.

3. So where was all that civic "investigative" questioning zeal..
.. when Bush and Cheney were flouting laws,
ignoring subpoenas, refusing to testify,
and refusing to turn over legally requested
documents?

Hmmm...........????????????

4. Honestly, I always marveled at Bush's brass balls when he told to press to piss off.
It was one of the few things about him I would call a positive attribute.

7. He and Cheney were excellent at avoiding the press too. Hell - you
never have to explain a damn thing if you stay in a bubble. Especially over the Plame deal - hell to this day
they never got grilled on that deal.

12. Actually they did
But they weren't under oath and that testimony has never seen the light of day.

5. it would be different if they were interested in the truth, but they are only interested in their
agenda. Pat Buchanan even said on Morning Joe that if Obama answers all the questions about Blago today at the press conference, it won't be enough because questions are still "swirling", etc. They are acting as if Obama has been silent on this for weeks! Nothing has changed in the past two days and the media is frustrated that they don't have more to report, so they start acting more "suspicious" and quoting speculative WSJ articles that are nothing new, just to package it as something new.

6. I see your point - but then, sometimes I think - politicians
seem to do better with a matter of fact approach. Reagan and McCain used to be good at this. Like when asked
the would say - "hell ya, I said that, or hell ya, I meant that or did that." Something Dems have never been too good at -
always trying to over-explain, apologize, etc.

This scandal is red hot - so you are probably right - but on the other hand, it seems kind of unbelievable to
act like no one ever talked to the guy - hell he was a freakin dem governor - from the same state. Who
would believe you never interacted with him?

I see both sides.

11. Oh I know that - I just think you can't say you never, ever talked to
the guy. Which he hasn't said anyway.

This is the same crap the Republicons used during the campaign with the Bill Ayers questions. No matter how much the politician says it will never be enough. When it comes to the MSM they always act like they know some inside information but are just waiting for the person, in this case President Obama, to admit it before they run with it. In the end the MSM doesn't know anything. If they can't have a full blown scandal they will intimate at a scandal and hope they can get ratings that way.

If I were President Obama and felt I needed had to make one more definitive statement. The statement would include the following.

1. He doesn't approve of what was done
2. He wasn't involved in what was done
3. Nobody in his group was involved in any illegal activity in connection with this and if they were they will be removed (he has to make sure he follows up on this no matter who it was that was involved)
4. He supports any punishment when the charges are proved in a court of law. (that old bug-a-boo innocent until proven guilty in a court of law)
5. Reiterate that he thinks the governor should step down. Though this goes in the face of the innocent until proven guilty so he might want to leave this out.

At that point he adds he has been forthcoming with all he knows and if any more information comes to his attention the appropriate people will be notified. Finally, he will be taking no more questions on the subject as he is too busy getting ready to help this country out of the mess it is in to allow himself and his people to be distracted by questions on something that doesn't involve him. From that point on if anybody does ask a question on the subject he ignores it and calls on the next question.

10. The response from Dems defending Obama should be, "The crooked governor called President-Elect Obama
a motherfucker because he would not play along with the scheme. And you are still trying to pin something on him. That is disgraceful!"

Instead, the few Dems that "defend" the PE are trying to play both sides by being wimps in their comments. State the truth in a direct, no-bullshit fashion and see what happens.
