Blago will not resign.
Impeachment and conviction would require evidence and that is not technically available without causing Double Jeopardy situation for Fitzgerald.
The State Supreme Court would likely b unwilling to remove him from office because there is still a presumption of innocence,

Meanwhile any appointment he makes to the Senate is utterly tainted, but the Senate really has no ability to stop the appointment if the person is constitutionally qualified (and I am not sure who would want the job if appointed by Blago anyway). And the Legislature can't change the process without the governor's signature,

And insofar as I know there is no recall mechanism in the state.

The guy is polling at 7%.. 7 frigging percent... he is an arrogant SOB ans a complete loon and is not going anywhere.....

1. I live in Illinois.
And can't figure out how we got here.

Unreal.

I am hoping he resigns soon.

8. Why did people vote for him?
I'm a dyed in the wool Dem, and I voted for Rich Whitney, because anyone with eyes to see knew this guy was incompetent, even if you didn't know he was corrupt, that long ago. But here we are.

5. Couldn't the legislature change the process by overriding his veto?
Does he still have any support in the legislature?

7. He has 60 days to sign legislation in to law,
might as well impeach him instead.
