Colin Powell Calls on Congress to Review "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"
http://www.pamshouseblend.com

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell today called on Congress to review "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." An architect of the original law, Powell's opinion is widely regarded as a barometer of the law's future.

When asked by CNN reporter Fareed Zakaria about his association to the law banning openly gay, lesbian and bisexual service members from the armed forces, Powell responded "we defiantly should reevaluate it...it's been fifteen years and attitudes have changed." Powell went on to note, "I'm quite sure that's what President-Elect Obama would want to do."

1. I hope its because HIS attitude has changed.
People can overcome ignorance and perhaps Powell finally gets that gays were never going to be a problem in the military.

5. Remember the column in the NYT by Barry Goldwater about it? About how...
gays were killed at Normandy, etc.

2. Interesting
it was his opposition to gays in the military that got Clinton off on the wrong foot.

Careful who your friends are...

6. K&R. Obama is against DADT also. I hope Powell gives him any "legitimacy" he may need to
repeal it.
