The guy who wants Obama's senate seat said "if we see Obama there's a shoot-on-sight order"
On December 10, 2008, Kirk stated on WLS-AM 890's Don Wade & Roma, a top Chicago talk radio show, that he would run for Barack Obama's vacant United States Senate seat if it is put to a special election, as Illinois legislatures intend to do.

In a radio interview on June 18, Kirk said "if we see Obama there's a shoot-on-sight order." He later acknowledged that he misspoke, personally apologized to Senator Obama and posted a public apology on his website

2. Depends on who is running against him.
If there is a poor choice made, he really could still win.

3. Lots of people in the district voted for both kirk and Obama
he's considered a moderate even tho he's a right winger and all of the local newspapers and Chicago papers endorsed kirk and Obama.

7. I don't want him either, and am keeping my fingers crossed that you're wrong.
I remember hearing Durbin talk just a few short weeks ago about how hopeful he was that Blago would name someone before the next Congress was sworn in so that the new senator from IL would have seniority over the newly-elected senators. Now we're talking about the possibility of having a Republikan represent us. :-(

Thanks a lot, Blago! x(

8. He says he mistook Obama for Osama. Judging by how many Democrats have done that, I don't
find it hard to believe.

Can't judge for sure without hearing the actual conversation.
