1. Why doesn't the state take up ownership stakes?
That would be way of supporting the industry that I would support. This is the time to really transform the economy.

4. It is not productive to paint an entire region of the country that way.
There are many fine progressives from the South who are putting up the good fight. And as you know, the Dems have been making electoral gains lately in the region. But your kind of divisive talk will change all that and give the South back to the GOP again.

5. I agree.
It's the senators that need to be voted out of office. Attacking the whole South is just silly. What needs to be done is to get things going now to take on those senators who killed the bill, so that when they come up for re-election they will have a good strong democrat to take them on.
