Senate republicans are STUPID.
As indicated in this past election, we can win the rust belt by winning blue collar union workers. We don't need S. Carolina, or Alabama, or Georgia, or Kentucky to keep the White House and win even more senate seats.

Ultimately they are cutting their own throats because the big 3 will get the money, either by Bush and TARP or by Obama and TARP. And Boehner will go down big time in 2010 for not getting his senate chums to sing the right tune.

1. And, by doing they have kissed off Indiana and Ohio as well...
Do they have no signs of intelligent life in that party?

2. Evil often crowds out intelligence, reason and common sense.

3. Voinovich probably sensed the change in the wind ...
and is trying to save his sorry flip-flopping, "vocal stand, but voting wimp" ass from getting "DeWine-d" in 2010 ...

4. I wish the election were tomorrow, I doubt any republicans could win any office of importance.
They have just shown what complete fools they are.

5. Democrats do win blue collar union workers
Edited on Fri Dec-12-08 07:23 PM by Juche
Emphasis on union. White union workers vote democratic about 60-70% of the time. But it is important that they be in and have a union first because the union helps get them more politically active and gives them an incentive to vote democratic (to protect the union).

Getting unionization levels to 15-20% via the EFCA will lead to long term progressive majorities.

But yes they are stupid. Their response to a string of failures and policies that have alienated people under 30, women, latinos, blacks, asians, gays, agnostics and everyone else who isn't a heterosexual married white christian from a small town is to increase the bigotry against anyone who isn't a heterosexual married white christian from a small town. Good luck. Fuck em. By the time they figure it out it'll be too late.

6. But not half as stupid as the morons who vote for them.
And call CSPAN every morning parroting their talking points. "Deh auto workers makes $73 an hour. They deserve to lose their jobs."

None of them have taken the time to figure out that that would equal almost $152,000 a year and these workers would be living high on the hog in big old McMansions.

It's always smart to advocate against your own best interest and in the interest of your fascist overlords. How moronic do you have to be to be that fricking gullible? How much of a pretzel brain to you have to have to rationalize all of the hypocrisy drilled into it everyday by Rush and Hannity and the GOP? God I want to slap them.

I'm not that sure that the people who voted for right wing Repubs like Boehner this last time have enough sense to figure out that these people do not give a crap about them or America or their kids' futures.

7. Demographically they are headed for permanent minority status
http://elections.nytimes.com/2008/results/president/exit-polls.html

Notice the Youth Vote (22-39)

Obama won by 66% to 32%

The only age group McCain won in was over 60 and he won it by a small margin.

Notice the Hispanic Vote 67% to 31%.

Essentialy the people who will be voting the most in the future rejected their party by an unheard of level. The racial democraphic group that is growing the fastest is overwhelmingly voting for the democrat and that is with the republican that his been the most pro-immigration of any republican.

9. It was such a blatant "fuck the unions" move. But they're betting on...
the hope that in 23 months from now, there will be other topics under discussion and two long years of blaming Obama & the "socialistic Democrats" for every little thing that goes wrong, starting in mid February '09.

I think the voters will be smarter than that. But all of us need to help by reminding our friends and the media outlets we follow just how bad a mess Bush & the Republicans left us in.
