2. Rick Warren has become the holy liason to politicians this cycle
If Obama wanted a famous preacher/religious writer to do the invocation, it should have been Joel Osteen.

He has said he will be the president of McCain voters, too. And he picked another man, whose views are totally opposite from Warren's, to end the ceremony.
