"Pro-Lifers Rip Rick Warren on Obama Invocation"

(that's their headline)

http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/504326.aspx

This is terrible; this man call's himself a Christian????Barack H. Obama is the most PRO-DEATH president America has ever elected!!!!! He has said that as president he is going to pass the "Freedom of Choice Act" how can our country get any better with this type of MURDER?????? Mr. Warren school be ashamed of himself, protection of the unborn is the MOST IMPERATIVE issue as a Christian!!!!! For without life do we continue to have a society at all??? I think not!!!!!

--

I was very disappointed when Rick Warren gave his pulpit over to Obama a year or so ago, concerning the AIDS epidemic. Obama is an unapologetic supporter of unrestricted abortion, which has been responsible for more deaths than all the years of AIDS. A little leaven leaveneth the whole loaf, and Mr Warren should realize that the leaven of compromise is the beginning of unending compromise.

1. Obama is sticking to his campaign promise, which clearly many on here didn't bother listening to.

20. Not everyone..
Just those on the far left & the far right.

He's doing what he promised.. which was to appeal to the middle.. which is where most of the country is currently at. Obama's job is to move them from middle, to slightly left. That would be a feat.

8. Guess this is a good example of "bringing people together"
Edited on Thu Dec-18-08 12:56 PM by marylanddem
As if having the dipstick pastor at the Inauguration is going to further dialogue. Hey, we are fundamentally different people - we don't NEED to be brought together. I don't WANT to dialogue with these closed-minded rightwingers.

11. Cognitive dissonance is a technique

For making people think.

The nutjobs right wingers posting those types of comments will always be nutjob right wingers. The point is to marginalize them and get the attention of the big mushy middle.

Decent people - even ones with undeveloped opinions - were repelled by the McPalin campaign atmosphere toward the end.

9. This shows that Obama made an excellent move

Both sides of the political spectrum need to learn how to find common ground and work together, instead of being at each others throats all the time.

10. Protection of the unborn is the most imperative issue for a Christian?
Funny - I thought it was about taking care of the poor (which the CBNers don't do), comforting mourners, feeding the hungry (they don't much like this one, either - might cost them $100 in taxes), protecting the persecuted (yeah, this one they don't like, either - it might mean they're soft on crime) and, finally, accepting Christ as your Savior.

I don't recall reading about any unborn in the Bible.

Warren is a neanderthal on choice and civil rights

His main thing, though has become social justice issues.

The thing about getting people focussed on taking care of the poor, feeding the hungry, etc. is that it tends to broaden the mind. But nobody changes overnight.

19. No. Those are just the things that Jesus taught.
Totally unrelated to Christianity.

15. Pro-death? Obama is anti-abortion (but pro-choice), anti-death penalty, and anti-war.
So Obama is hardly pro-death. Now, if we want to talk about being pro-death the person should look in the mirror. They support the war, the death penalty, torture, etc. They oppose welfare, universal health care, etc. That's pro-death.

17. They can only look in the mirror if someone holds one up to them

...and that was the beauty of the McPalin disintegration.
