The board is back and going fast.

They are reinstating Franken ballots very quickly.

Also the ballots that are being sent to the "Blue File" are ballots that have no duplicate.

8. I think that the next big question is not counted absentee ballots that
will be decided by the Supreme Court.

The question of double voting is raised by Coleman's attorney so it appears to favor them but there is little or no evidence of actual double counting so its a difficult question to make. I think they are grasping at straws now.

It seems to look very good for Franken.

Does anyone know if they are done reviewing Franken's challenges? I know they did that for 2 days and Coleman gained, and now they are reviewing Coleman's challenges, which is why Franken is gaining...does anyone know if there are any more Franken challenges to review, or should Coleman be done gaining?

69. This is what happens when you have a paper trail - you look at what the voter did with his/her own
hand

I think MN process is great. You have election judges at every precinct and same day registration so that there are no provisional ballots.

Also they are almost unanimous votes on deciding - so far I have seen only one non unanimous vote.


If Coleman hadn't put in so many frivolous challenges this could have been done in one day.

By the time they are finished that probably means a lead of something like 600 for Franken, not including the withdrawn challenges. Because Franken withdrew more challenges than Coleman did this means that the withdrawn challenges will favor Coleman. I predict by the time those are figured in it will be approximately a 100 vote lead for Franken.

When the canvassing board started reviewing Franken had four hundred and some odd ballots and Coleman had over 900. This means approximately 1400 ballots, but since then Coleman has withdrawn some ballots and added some others so the numbers have changed slightly but not a whole lot. The board has already looked at all the Franken challenges, so pretty much everything that is left to be looked at is a Coleman challenge. Looking at the fact that less than 600 have been reviewed, that means approximately 800 are left. Again because I don't have the exact numbers in front of me that math is not going to be perfect, but I do know it is fairly close.

there are a lot of "blue file ballots", ballots without duplicates which I am pretty certain that they will count and these will go big for Franken.

Also there are about 1500 good absentee ballots that have not been counted and these also will probably counted and are likely to help Franken.

Coleman is fighting both of these groups but comments by the board indicate that they want to count both.

The court challenge, as I understand it (meaning you are on the receiving end of a
a whiff of ignorance) has to do with 1500 so called "no problem" absentee ballots that were legal absentee ballots that were filled correctly but not counted (due to local precinct error). On review they were found to be without any disqualifying problem. Franken wants them counted and Coleman does not.

If the review of ballots puts Franken in the lead Coleman would likely rescind his objection and hope that these ballots would overturn the recount and canvass.

A bigger problem are ballots that have no "duplicate" that are now being put aside into a "blue file".

These seem to further favor Franken.

Coleman is also trying to argue that there has been substantial "double counting" of votes although there is no real evidence of any significant problem.

Its looking good for Franken on all counts.

On the spreadsheet it said couldn't tell intent, but clearly it was identifying marks, and the lawyer had that there were two different ballots.

It seems like there were two different ballots and they did not have the same one from yesterday - clearly something off there.

This does not include the withdrawn challenges, and because Franken withdrew more than Coleman did that means that Coleman will gain more votes from them. There are still at least a few hundred more Coleman challenges to go through though the large majority of which will be Franken votes. Also we have the absentee ballots which were rejected for no legal reason, and will almost certainly be counted. Those will most likely favor Franken, so in the end I would much rather be in Franken's shoes right now than Coleman's.

206. I think some of those had extraneous marks on the ballots

...in areas other than the circles for Franken and Coleman.

IMHO the one where the "O" in Norm was filled in, was arguably a Coleman vote.
