g8r: ok ok lets get serious now.what do you think of this incoming administration?

JC:well you know me "render unto caesar" (chuckles)i really dont get into politics much after what happened last time but it seems like you have a good crew up in there,im hopeful.

g8r: theres been a lot of contoversy about the PE's choices at his inauguration to give speeches and prayers.do you have any reservations about rev lowery or rev warren praying?

JC:lowery is speeking?i love his work he really gets me.who is the other guy?

g8r:warren,rick warren

JC:you say he works for me?im not familiar with his name....warren ..warren...not ringing any bells.

g8r:but

JC(thunder rolls in backgroud)I SAID NO COMMENT!

g8r:well that about wraps up our time,i want to thank jesus for being our guest today and would you like to add anything before we go?

JC:yes i would actually,...a long time ago i made a few ...very few statements regarding human sexuality..i would appreciate it if everyone would stop reading too much into what i said...i mean it was the first century and i was influenced by the times...i always tried to stress that what was important was that you all love one another and not judge each other

g8r once again thanks jesus for making time for us all today and thats good advice we can all use
love one another and dont judge.

JC:been a pleasure to be here

g8r thanks jesus and good night

2. I LOVE THIS! "...it's not like i went away..." If the Jesus is Real, where would he go?
Is the phenomenal world not Real too? (at least to some(?) degree) ....

If Jesus is Real and if our experiences are Real, by virtue of that Real-ness, "where" would Jesus go?

As long as we are killing ANY of the powerless, Jesus IS here.

As long as people, ANY people, honestly try to love one another, inspite of everything that mitigates to the contrary, Jesus IS here.

3. Is this the white blonde hippie Jesus?
Or the short, dark skinned one with the black curly hair?

Which one is what Jesus really looked like? I need to know before I interpret any more water stains, breakfast toast chars, or wood grain patterns.

4. I think our local churches are gonna have a little talk to this Jesus
He's spending waaaayy too much time focusing on feeding poor people and railing against the money changers, and not enough time on who puts what body parts into whom to amuse themselves.

5. AFAIK, Jesus never said doodly-squat about human sexuality.
That was all Old Testament. Which of course has many conflicting stories and ideas. The Jews know that the Torah was written according to the times, and that it's all open to midrash. It's only fundamentalist Christians who think those writings can only be interpreted one way, and that way is unchanging and unchangeable. Freakin' goyim!

In fact the only BIGGEE that Jesus ever mentioned in terms of anything remotely relating to sexuality is this
"What God has joined together, let no man put asunder."

A quote that was used in the fifties by my fifth grade religion teaching nun to snub and humiliate my fifth grade teacher who happened to be divorced. And I can think of no finer human being than Mrs G.

So it seems to me, if we want to be all Bible Studies about it,the people in trouble with the Lord are people like me who are divorced. And Ronald Reagan, who was divorced.

And probably 20 % of all grown up Americans.
