Reasons To Be Cheerful: Part One

With humble apologies to the late, great Ian Dury, I will attempt to spread a little holiday cheer. Like it or not. Despite our differences on DU, please realize that this is the LAST holiday season with Bush, Cheney and their ilk. Hopefully, for many, many holidays to come. I don't know what astounds me more. The damage done by the Republican Party or their unwillingness to accept the blame for our ills. Rare is the Republican who openly admits that this administration did a horrendous job. I work with a lot of these people. For this, I blame the Right-wing media for instilling this sense of hate. This with us or against us attitude has driven a wedge throughout this country. We've reached the point that a certain populace is rooting for Obama to fail. Even with our country's future at stake. If nothing else, I'd love to see the destruction of this message in the upcoming years.
But, I digress. I'm here to share the GOOD news. So raise a toast this holiday season. To the end of the Bush-Cheney era. And the hope that a year from now the future looks a lot brighter.

Can you believe this snow we got.. we have had as of last night 19 inches since last Monday.. arrrgghhhhh... :) Cheers and looking forward to the New Year

Did your son arrive home OK? We had an inch or so of ice Thursday night followed by a couple of inches yesterday. It's currently minus 4 degrees. I bet you're alot colder.

hopefully.. It has been blizzarding all around us for the last 24 hours.. Hubby got about 15 miles away from the house yesterday, and it was a complete white out.. The roads are clear, but that fresh snow is flying in these 40 mph winds. Cold, it was -17 this AM and I have not a clue what the whind chill was..

The roads will be fine. Drive safely!

It stuns me that this thinking exists. But it sure as shit does. I think we're going back to the days of country first, party second. I think, like Lincoln, that he is the right man at a crucial point in our history. He will not let us down. He grasps the enormity of the challenge. And won't shy from it. Cheers!

I just started a thread basically to thank Juniprex for giving me my new avatar..the peacetrain.. and I titled it No reason.. Completely forgot your op was title Reasons.. Must have liked your title so much it I used it sublimely..I think I need some coffee

The title of the song, actually. is "Reasons to be Cheerful: Part Three". I'm working on those other reasons.

I think having Bush gone, is reason 2-99 for any of us to do the happy dance!!
