For all those worried about President-Elect Obama losing support on here
He has 100 days maybe 150 days due to the economy to push through any legislation he wants. After that he's going to have to make compromises with congress because congressional elections wil be coming up. If democrats take more seats in 2010 he than has another period however this time it will have to involve even more input from congress.

President Obama is going to be judged on one thing when it comes to re-election. Can he make progress on the economy in 4 years. If he does he will be re-elected. If he doesn't he will lose. It's really that simple.

1. You are right
it is the economy that will make or break Obama. For that reason, I don't really see him spending that much time on issues that don't deal with it.

4. Seeing how broke it is and how our economic system has virually collapsed
its where he should spend most of his time.

He shouldn't be starting civil wars in the party however, its not in his interest.

3. I'm not worried about him losing support at DU.
I've been swimming upstream for almost a year now, since I've never supported him.

I am glad to see that some who thought he was the christ of liberal politicians have seen the center-right light he stands in.

I'm not worried about the 2012 elections. I expect to spend the next 4 years acting aggressively on issues, not elections.

I don't buy the idea that there are 150 days every 4 years that elected officials can act.

5. I think he said he was good at multi-tasking.......
and as I have about the other things he has said, I take him at his word on this.

Barack Obama will do his damnest to get done what he said he would do....
But if he didn't say it, then don't bet on it.

The bar is high, but if anyone can get over it, he will....
even with a whole bunch of feet up his ass.

Mark this post.

6. My support is strong.
Especially considering the alternative. I'm disappointed and disagree with his invocation decision, but I'm still happy he beat McCain, and he is My First President since 1/19/2001.

7. He's already being judged. He's either scared or refusing to remove the homophobe-bigot that has
his base feeling so insulted.

One hell of a way to start a presidency. Fear or refusal to make his base happy even for an INAUGURATION for godssakes!

10. The people throughout the nation who are livid. And if you think they're only gays....
wake up. I'm as straight as an arrow and almost all my friends are straight, and my family is all straight except for one second cousin, and we were all flipping out when he did this, even before any newspapers or news reports carried this info.

I can detect tho, that you only care about shutting up protesters of Obama's selection of Rick Warren. Your reason for this is?

12. I don't know but I can tell you Obama never expected this
this enormously huge outcry against Rick Warren. Now the ball is in Obama's court. If he does nothing, that will speak volumes, and we're all listening.

13. You are probably correct. However that does not validate choosing Warren or being anti-gay marriage

17. I already agreed with you on that point, though. In fact, my son and I had
that same conversation only this morning.
