James Warren: Obama Tried to Influence Blago and stayed away from him because he is Political Poison
and did not want to antagonize Blago. Why send Rahm into that situation if you did not want to influence Blago? He claims that Obama "sent" Blago a list of potential nominees and he really wanted Jarret but did not want Jesse Jackson, Sr. angry by not wanting JJJ for the seat.

I just read the letter and it didn't say that in their findings. :shrug: Rahm was talking to blago before he was the "chosen" one though and I think they gave blago a list of acceptables once he was chief of staff...
