Even though I have a friend I can stay with in Arlington, just two Metro stops away from Penn Ave's vicinity for the FREE parade route view. I respectfully declined this kind invite. Enjoy the article :hi:

1. The subway opens at 4am that day
Word of advice, watch the doors when they close. The doors are not pressure sensitive, when they close they close. Trying to hold a door open will result in whatever is in the door to get caught. And the trains doors tend to malfunction when that happens. Malfunctioning doors result in the entire train having to offload and wait for the next train. The next train will be coming in about 5 minutes. I have been riding the DC subway for almost 20 years and I have seen it happen too often. I'm glad that we are off work that day.

Not to be a party-pooper, if you wanna be in DC for the event, go ahead.

I've been to one inauguration parade. I'll gladly spend this one watching C-SPAN in the warm comfort of a party of friends, celebrating like it's 2009!
