I await an "on the other hand" opinion from DU'ers here who support the flat earth, terra centric universe lobby...

3. You may get some debate from freepers or from the unmentionable site
They'll let you know the earth is 6000 years old, to boot.

5. On the other hand, if ALL space is expanding, and not just the
universe at large, then the earth is growing, all space is expanding, and the ground under our feet is pushing up on us creating "gravity".

6. Engegement is the Best Solution.
Yes, the Geo-Centrists Scare me. They have a strong political track record, most recently punctuated by putting Giovanni Battista Pamphilj into the Papacy. And they have the capability of seriously screwing this place up (even more!)

I proposed active engagement. My Uncle says that this is a waste of time and just wait for them to die out like the anti-PI bigots of the Rome. I disagree. For if we do not engage, and work together whenever common ground is possible, and thereby expose the earth-middlers to the morality of the Heliocentric secularists, et. al., then the die-out plan will fail because more Terra-basists will simple rise up to take the place of the ones that have passed.

Tommaso Caccini and company are bad, this is true. But ignoring them, or (worse) getting them riled up, or (worse yet) insulting them, is a recipe for continued disasters.

Exactly how to do this without figuratively throwing our Round-Earth friends and family under the bus, or similarly sacrificing other vital moral issues, is very problematic, but it must be done.

So, our first assignment is to find a way to be nice to Cardinal Roberto Bellarmino while simultaneously making it abundantly clear that he is being hateful, hurtful, and wrong when it comes to Centrism, Earth-Geometry, and probably a couple of other issues.

I wish us all luck.

Any ideas?
