Official New Most Liberal Democrat in the Senate Thread...
You know that in 2004, the Republicans proclaimed Kerry as "most liberal" and then in 2008 it was Obama....now that Obama has been elected to the White House and is no longer in the Senate and will likely stand for re-election in 2012, it appears that the Republicans will likely no longer grace us with their "most liberal" designation and we are left to figure it out for ourselves..

Whom shall we nominate?

Who shall claim the mantle of "most liberal" from Obama?

Your nominations please...

3. It's going to be Harry Reid, they're already talking about his "tough re-eleciton odds" for 2010.

17. Excuse me?
"A race we need to LOSE"????

A Republican is NEVER more acceptable than a Democrat!

5. Most liberal...
.
.

I'd guess in Congress, it would be Pete Stark (CA).. and in the Senate, Independent Bernie Sanders (VT) with maybe Russ Fiengold coming in second...

I agree with Kittycat though. As far as the rTHUGS go, the most liberal as far as their talking points go, is whichever seat they're trying to get at the time..

6. First Nomination: Chuck Hagel of Nebraska
(You didn't say it had to be a democrat!)

They'll do it to shame him for opposing Bush's war (or at least demanding, gasp, the facts!), or to "fire a shot across the bow" as he threatens to go public on the Diebold scandle.

7. Second Nomination: Joe Lieberman of CT
(you didn't say it had to be a republican, either.)

This time they'll do it to give Joe some kind of cover as he continues to work for them with us.

16. And if it comes up for any sort of vote
Hagel can rig the election to help himself win.

Again.

13. It's always the same -- the most "liberal Dem in the Senate" is ...
... the one the Republicans are talking about at this moment.
