Anyone who's already damning Obama is being prejudiced.
Kindly wait until he's actually taken the Oath and has done some things first. Hiring people with ____ opinion doesn't necessarily mean ____ will follow.

Thank you!

:hi:

And if you're right, I'll let you know I was wrong. I'm good at doing that...

Definition of "prejudice":

1. An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.
2. A preconceived preference or idea.
2. The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions. See synonyms at predilection.
3. Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion.
4. Detriment or injury caused to a person by the preconceived, unfavorable conviction of another or others.

tr.v., -diced, -dic·ing, -dic·es.

1. To cause (someone) to judge prematurely and irrationally. See synonyms at bias.
2. To affect injuriously or detrimentally by a judgment or an act.

I'll be prejudiced in that #3 doesn't qualify for DUers. ;)

1. Of course.
Just like anyone who recognized him as center-right, and rejected him for that reason, during the primaries, was a subliminal racist. :eyes:

3. I'm with you 100% on this.
I have a feeling we will all be very happy with Obama's term. He's the best to come down the pike in quite a while. Rec'd.

4. We are post-judging him on an action he has done, NOT pre-judging him before any action
Prejudice means to PRE-judge beforehand, before anything has taken place.

Obama has taken an action, has chosen Warren. He has not rescinded the offer, even though he knows part of his base is upset about it, NOR has he come out and explained why he did it. Therefore, I am judging him POST (after) his action.

7. I was just telling someone else...
I don't agree with everything he's done so far, but I'm willing to assume he's smarter than I am and he will show me how wrong I was to doubt him:) I hope. :) I really do hope:)

8. So, if he calls for segregation before being president, we should not judge him?
Edited on Mon Dec-29-08 08:17 PM by Onlooker
(He hasn't done that of course.) If he keeps quiet while Israel kills civilians, we should keep quiet? If he gives prominent roles to anti-gay, anti-women evangelicals, we should keep quiet? I think now is the time to remind that we elected him to represent progressive views. Just because we like him personally does not mean we should give him a free ride. That's exactly what happened with the right wing and Bush.
