BRILLIANT move by Blovo to appoint Mr. Burris
Edited on Tue Dec-30-08 06:27 PM by bigdarryl
Harry Reid and the rest of the Democrats have no choice but to accept this appointment. Mr. Burris will be going to the black caucus and make no mistake about it they in the end will support him after that meeting. The Washington Dems risk angering the African Americans if they reject this guy and my prediction is if a special election is held a Rethug will get that seat

1. What black caucus?
Edited on Tue Dec-30-08 06:28 PM by deadmessengers
There isn't one in the Senate - because as of a month ago, there were no black Senators. And, President-elect Obama coming out publicly against this appointment pretty much blunts any criticism the House caucus may present.

4. He will be the black caucus! (kidding I kid)
I seriously hope this doesn't have to be a race issue. The man looks like he has fine credentials but the taint is all over him.

I just hope the Dems don't put into jeopardy that senate seat.

3. Total rubbish, Blago is a fool
and blacks don't play identity politics with thoroughly discredited pols, especially ones who seem as if they are on a death wish to tarnish the 1st black president.

5. They turned me off completely today with this crap...
Roland is an ass and so is rush and blago. We're going to end up losing the seat completely with these antics.

6. No Shitting. If They Threw It To a Special Election, Republicans Would Find a Cubbie or a White Sox
Guy to run on celebrity factor, alone.

Look at what they did with Grey Davis. There was a plan, folks. Just as there were Republicans who knew Spitzer was being investigated, there are Repubs who knew Blago was/is, too, and were making plans. Count on it.

7. Blago: "Watch what I do, not the crap I say."
"See, politicians say all sorts of stuff they don't mean. You have to judge them on their actions, not on their words."

It may be his best case.

9. GOPers aren't in control, they don't get to decide who is seated
anyway.

10. Really, even when Obama said he shouldn't be seated?
I think most people think Blogo is tainted and shouldn't be appointing anyone.
