2. Plaxico? Go Green!
OK, he's a hopeless idiot, but a great receiver.

I bet that's not the Burris you're talking about.

3. I'm guessing that he likes him because
every time his name is mentioned, Pat can chime in about the corrupt Blago that appointed him (under a cloud of suspicion).

4. Repubs are just happy, the Dems will have a placeholder
and they have an open seat to run for.

Dems needed to have a strong candidate to be appointed to this seat

6. No. The only reason why Buchanan likes Burris is because his selection makes it
complicated for the Dems. Blago has put the Dems in a precarious position. Will they reject a popularly-elected, qualified black man for that seat? Can they legally block an appointment from a governor who has not been convicted of a crime and one who we still don't know what the charges are or whether or not the charges implicate him engaging in *illegal* acts?

9. Yep, I think they're in a pickle.
They should have agreed to the special election once it was clear Blago wouldn't resign.

7. I don't know if he LIKES Burris,
Edited on Tue Dec-30-08 06:51 PM by Phx_Dem
but he thinks it's outrageous for the U.S. Senate to refuse to seat a legally-appointed Senator, who is qualified and never been involved in any scandal or wrongdoing.

I'm nervous because I agree with Pat. :scared:

The law seems very clear, and the Illinois Legislature missed an opportunity to seat a new senator through a special election. Blago agreed to have one, they declined. Blago has a legal right to make the appointment. He has not yet been charged, let alone convicted, of any crime.

10. Buchanan, while an ass, can at least judge that someone ain't a bad guy
I think it was a brilliant political move on Blago's part... and not knowing very much about Burris, he does need some media training... he wasn't quite ready for the shark feed.

11. No he's is being honest for once he knows the party will have trouble rejecting Burris because he's
black. By the way his sister Bey was on CNN and she agrees with her brother that this was a good move by the Governor. I never though in a million years I would be agreeing with these two.

13. Did Pat do that karate-chop thing he does with his hands?
.
.

When his hands start going, and is mouth starts going, you know he's full of B.S.

I caught the first two minutes of Morning Joe this morning (Tues a.m.) and they said Pat was at an all night poker party.. and that he phoned from the party at 1:00 a.m. saying he wouldn't make it in..

Barnacle said he's probably sleeping off a hangover today..
