Is harold ford register in New York?
I know he is living there now with his wife. Knowing how ambitious he is, it wouldn't surprise me if he tried to make a go of the senate seat in New York. With him being a clintonista and New York being more progressive than Tennessee, he probably thinks he would have a shot.

I watched him during this election cycle on msnbc and his Obama envy and jealousy was pretty blatant to me.

2. I know, right
Dark Sith probably think he could do it. He would have a better chance in NY than in TN.

Still don't like the lil bast!@d.

5. He lives there now
at least his new wife does. She contributed to hillary's presidential campaign.

I betcha he is plotting as we speak, especially with Caroline being basically out. I know bill and hill will campaign hard for him.

38. Was she the one in the Corker commercial?

I wouldn't want Harold Ford for mosquito control officer. Unless he was running against Corker.

Head of the DLC, who taught Rahm all he knows about running the DCCC and ignoring liberals.

1. Is Harold Ford Registered in New York?

JUMP!

2. It wouldn't surprise me if he tried to make a go of the senate seat in New York.

JUMP!

3. he probably thinks he would have a shot.

So even though he's shown absolutely ZERO interest, you've gone from asking if he's registered in NY to assuming he thinks he has a shot.

:eyes:

11. Well, let's consider the current occupant of the Senate seat in question
A DLC leader who never lived in New York before she became the Senator.

Guess that sounded just as ridiculous, but it happened.

Harold Ford was never married to a President though, so he probably won't be as lucky.

The whole family was corrupt. I personally don't trust him. Plus, he's also anti-choice, I believe.

18. Sorry, misunderstood you
Actually that was my question. Is he offically a New York resident?

There are posts about Paterson possibly appointing a bench warmer till the next election. Ford is staying (living?) in New York. His new wife lives and works in New York. He wants to be a senator. The clinton machine helped to place him as head of the DLC.

This is speculation on my part. I am in NC and not from or in NY or TN and have no inside knowledge and was just seeking answers.

Being a talking head has increase his national profile and with the right machine behind him he could have a chance. I wouldn't like it being that he is more republican than some republicans.

21. He's something else
it irritates the hell out of me when I see on on TV. From the Afrosphere, it seems that his black support has eroded.

I think him taking pictures in front of the confederate flag when running for senator had something to do with it.

26. No - he's pro-choice, but he's on the more conservative side of it.
He believes in restrictions, like parental notification.

But, he's not anti-choice as in "ban it completely."

If we wanted a Republican we would vote for one.

I didn't know he was living here but should he feel the need to go back to where he came from I'd gladly see him to the GWB.

28. Why would we want Harold Ford in the Senate?
Maybe as senator from Tennessee, because we're unlikely to get anyone better down there. But in New York there are plenty of good and talented progressive Democrats. Forget Ford.

NY media has mentioned Bob Kerry who's been at the New School and recently rec'd a vote of no confidence. While the Ford thing is just speculation, it has no appeal for me.

30. He is an egomaniac
filled with blind ambition. Obama's success has probably amplified it. As a msnbc analyst it almost killed him to say anything positive about Obama, because he was so filled with hater-aid.

39. Yep -
He was pretty far over the line. He also invited McCain to be the speaker at a New School graduation - though a student I knew there in 2004 spoke of the alternative to John Kerry, who got the majority of the vote being some of the left fringe candidates - with NO ONE for Bush. That area of Manhattan went for Kerry by around 90%. Neither the faculty or the student body was happy with that unilateral choice - that was on a par with the reaction if Liberty University made a moderate Republican President, who then asked Hillary Clinton to be the graduation speaker. (HRC chosen to be as parallel to McCain as possible - ie she is not the left most, nor is McCain the right most and both are universally seen as prestigious and equally unacceptable to the majority at the school.)
