Anyone know anything about the Obama train trip?
I have to work all day the day of inauguration (not that I was going anyway, but now I won't even be able to watch on TV)

But I WILL be in Philadelphia on 1/17 for the start of Obama's planned Amtrak trip to D.C. I've searched, but I can't find anything more than the information in this article.

Anyone know any more? I'd love the chance to see him off on the journey....

3. I'm sure for security reasons the particulars won't be out until a day before
I did hear it will start in Philly and pick Joe up in Wilmington, which takes usually about 20 minutes on the Metroliner. My guess will be that it's after rush hour so that Philly isn't completely snagged... start at 10AM?

If I were you, be at 30th Street Station by 6AM and get in line...

4. Another article said that there would be "an event"
So I had hoped there would be an opportunity to see him off (even from afar)

Well, one advantage to living in the giant mass of people that is the East Coast is that Wilmington isn't that far away - if there's no event in Philadelphia, maybe there's one in Wilmington, and then my friend and I can hit the Riverfront Outlets for some shopping afterwards....

5. All I know is....
... ever since I found out they were moving to DC, that train trip lost some of its romance. lol

6. At first I thought it was too much but it will allow more people to see him
leading up to the inarguration. So I was wrong to criticize it.
