In fact it's suppose to be Sunny at 38 in DC - which is pretty good for DC weather in January.

My biggest fear is that a blizzard would come thru. I'm driving to DC and have 2 people I'm helping with getting to and from the airport.

1. Here's to clear skies. But,
weather reports more than 3 days out are unreliable.

11. I'm with you on that, tekisui!
Any good weatherperson knows that in mid-winter any forecast 9 days out is next to a coin-toss. Yes, there is cold weather expected everywhere in the East early that week, but there's also a potential snow event in the East the day before the inauguration. Timing can change so easily, maybe a day's delay? Best to look at it after about Thursday. (Yes, I'm in the bidness, but not at the Weather Channel.)

Avergae high for that date is probably only about 40.

3. Is that the inauguration/impeachment ceremony? Looks like some DUers
think they should happen one simultaneously.

22. I got my commemorative invitation yesterday. It made my eyes
tear up. It's silly, but I was so happy that they appreciated the donations we made. I can't imagine a republican remembering the small donors. We small donors made a huge difference this time and that in itself is amazing. Heck, now my eyes are tearing up again, remembering how hard we worked to make this happen.

4. 38 degrees? It's a heat wave!
It will be a high of 2 with a low of -8 when I leave Madison for the east coast. Nice!

8. Family is driving up from Atlanta. The problem with the weather here is that it's unpredictable.
One minute, it could be sunny; the next minute it could be snowing.

I'm suggesting that people dress in layers. Umbrellas are not allowed. Bring those cheap plastic ponchos in case it rains. They have hoods.

9. My dear LynneSin!
38? That sounds pretty cold to me!

But I have cold weather clothing, and I just bought some silk long underwear for warmth...

And Mabus said we can shop nearby if I decide I must have some warmer clothes!

I'm hoping it won't snow either...:scared:

I'm looking forward to meeting you!

14. A blizzard? In DC?
LOLOL....uhmmm our "blizzards" normally consist of 3-5 inches that melts the next day. Every now and then there is the freakish foot or so of snow, but those are few and really far between.

21. Reagan's second Inaugural....
.... was snowed out. They had to move the whole thing inside. THAT is what I've been fearful of. All of this time and effort, all of the people who are so excited about going.

I've seen it snow two feet where I live ..... two hours north of Atlanta ... ANYTHING can happen! lol

18. 38 degrees in Jan that's balmy for us Chicagoans. The Obamas will be comfy.
They had a beautiful cloudless warm night for Nov 4th. I hope the weather keeps up for Jan 20th.

19. That's tropical - Above freezing and sunny - that is as good as it gets

Unless you move the inauguration to Hawaii...

Frankly, 38 degrees & sunny sounds sublime. Here in Western MA temps will be only reaching 15 or lower for the highs & below zero temps in store for the nights.

Here in the North East, we are having one of THOSE winters.

23. 38 degrees is warm. At least from the perspective of 20 degrees in CT
at this very moment. I hope there is no snow because that would be a major headache for everyone involved.

24. Just checked the forecast again....
... because I'm a nerd like that .... but it's forecasted to be cloudy in the morning and sunny in the afternoon.

Read into that whatever symbolic meaning you like. :)
