1. Good for him.
Lest we forget, Huckabee was the only prominent conservative (that I know of, anyway) to stand up for Rev. Wright during that whole news feeding frenzy, last Spring.

2. I'm gonna whisper this so no one will hear me....
... he's sort of likeable. Wouldn't vote for him, but he's probably the least repulsive conservative out there.

.. and he just showed the shot of Ann getting hit with the pie. :)

3. I don't agree with him
on much of anything but he does not strike me aas being a hateful person. Ann COulter on the other hand is a nasty piece of work and deserves all the ridicule she gets. Good for Huckabee for taking her on.

22. He is an extrememly hateful person, as bad as Coulter, probably worse
As Coulter doesn't use religion as her center.

He just wraps it up in a folksy package.

6. I know what you mean.
When he says 'gays are going to hell', it doesn't sound as offensive when say, Rush or Hannity say the same thing. You kind of get that he just doesn't know any better, and that perhaps there is some hope for him (but not his dog-lynching rube of a son).

Don't be sucked in. I was, until I really listened to some of his statements. He puts kind of a Gooberish face on hate speech.

7. Oh wow.....
I didn't realize he'd decided he had the ability to judge someone's soul in a way that is usually only reserved for God.

I dont guess you have a citation for that? (that's not a challenge, I'm legit. curious.)

12. I haven't found that quote, but he did imply gays haven't been beaten up enough.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UkXo9tCv48&feature=related

He distinguishes the 1960s civil rights movement from the push for marriage equality by talking about the violence against blacks during segregation.

17. The civil rights legislation of the 1960s was passed...
Edited on Sun Jan-11-09 10:36 PM by Clio the Leo
... in large part due to the violence that the American People saw being enacted on their own. They saw children beaten and murdered on the 6 o'clock news while they ate their supper and simply decided it wasn't worth it.

I dont know why violent acts against gays and lesbians are not being reported by the media. I dont know why examples of men and women being beaten and killed simply because they want to marry are being ignored. But if the American people aren't familiar with the fact that gays and lesbians are suffering the same kind of violence and deaths African Amercans have, that's why. The media is not reporting these events.

I just tried to Google it and found nothing. That makes no sense.

23. He probably has that ability
One of the gifts of the spirit is the supernatural power to determine the status of a person's salvation. It's not reserved for God, only for those mental enough to believe that they are special.

8. He is likeable
With a good sense of humor. That's what makes him dangerous, he can come off like a nice guy in an interview and has learned to downplay the nutball stuff.

But it's there, he's no moderate republican when you look at where he wants to take the country. He's a Pat Robertson type.

25. You're right - he's pretty charming/likeable until you realize
his policies are almost from the Dark Ages - he was a signatory to the Southern Baptist ad in USA Today that called for women to graciously submit to their husband's sacrificial leadership...

5. And.....
... he's got Springer on there now (Jerry.)

Jerry said, "how wonderful is it that, 7 years after 9/11, the American people elected a man named "Barack HUSSEIN Obama."

And the Mike Huckabee Show audience applauded.

Maybe them wingnuts aren't ALL bad. ;-)

(this is a passing moment, do not be alarmed lol)

Warning, the OP was not exactly accurate in her portrayal of this, if you are looking for Coulter to get skewed you are looking in the wrong place.

19. It's funny that it takes the Huck to rip into her
Many people in journalistic circles whose politics leans more close to our own fear to really rip her on the air, yet he does it on his show. Good for him, since she is an evil bitch of the highest order. Huck is likable, but we shouldn't worry too much as he has little chance of getting elected president. Not as we enter a new age in this country. That is at least my humble opinion and my hope. I have been surprised before, like in the 2004 elections so I guess anything is possible.

That coulter witch is disgusting. I had thought the networks banned her long ago, but every time she comes out with a new outrageous book the corporate media bends over for her. Disgusting.

26. Huck and Coulter have history of public arguments
And it is not pretty stuff on either side. Dirty laundry indeed.

Here's Huckabee in 1992:
"If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague."
So, while he was willing to put PWA's into 'isolation' over this 'plague', the same day he wrote this:
"In light of the extraordinary funds already being given for AIDS research, it does not seem that additional federal spending can be justified."

I'll just let those quotes stand. Huck stood by them last year.

27. I hate to admit it, but I kind of do like Huckabee
I would never vote for him in a general election, but as a person I find him likeable, and he's a Republican I can at least respect even if I don't agree with him. I like that he reached out to unions during the 2008 primaries instead of ignoring them like most Republicans, and I like that he defended Obama during the Reverend Wright controversy.

I turn when she's on, but I love it when the Coulterbeast crawls out of her spider hole. Every time she opens her foul hypocritical mouth Republican's lose votes . . . I do hope the Coulterbeast keeps snarlin' and barkin'.

Edit to add - and I do admit to liking Huckabee. I would never vote for him, of course, but I think a lot of not very political middle-of-the-road people would.

29. WHAT? Did we watch the same interview?
He questioned a couple statements she made about him then he proceeded to lick her ass practically begging her to support him if he decided to run again. Republican men are completely controlled by their dicks. Even after Coulter hammered the guy he still begged like a little puppy to be accepted by her.
This doesn't even cover the point that his show is like something on cable access. He's got about as much professionalism as Wayne's World.
