Then crowds of mourners demonstrated their palpable connection to Bobby by thronging the rails in tears and sorrow to say good bye. Today thousands with unrestrained joy braved the frigid temperatures to demonstrate their connection to Barack and to say Godspeed. Bobby's death robbed me and so many others of the conviction that America could live up to its ideals.Barack has restored that hope that so many of us had lost. Any doubt about that has been given the lie by the outpouring of human spirit on display all along the Amtrak route today. Yes we can. Yes we will!!!
2. I'm glad I wasn't the only person thinking about this today
I kept being reminded of it as well. It's wonderful to see so many people out there celebrating today. The same outpouring of emotion, just full of Hope this time.
I can remember watching documentaries about FDR with my folks.I can still see the stricken looks of sadness on the faces of people as they tried to come to grips with his death. Liberal Democrats connect with people in ways that are real and strong. No wonder the plutocrats go to such lengths to vilify them.
13. I saw him at KU the day after he announced. His speech
touched me so deeply. I wasn't there on but I watched the whole trip on TV. The connection that Bobby fostered wasn't just from us to him but also among those of us who loved and supported him. Thanks for being there. Thanks for sharing.
