I'm feeling it!
Watching CSPAN's rebroadcast of the train trip again and watching all those faces in the crowds, cheering in joy, crying in joy, and all the smiles on the faces of people from so many groups.

It is a good feeling, reinforced by the feeling of pride and joy that my son invited me to his Facebook group. Yeah, my son, who is in his late 20s and lives half the nation away from me. I took a look at the faces of his friends on his site and smiled. They look like the faces in that crowd--all colors under the sun, names from many cultures. I smiled. I know we are headed to a brighter future and this is the beginning. There is a generation coming after us who will go where mine (the Boomers) could not quite totally realize. I thought of the fact that there are a lot more of us then them--after all we discovered birth control in our generation. My son, my daughter, their friends will go there.

God speed, Mr. President. God speed, my sons and daughters. Our legacy will be a new beginning.

worked so hard to get a Democratic President in the White House and with the end of our misery after George Bush would want to wallow in anything else. It has been a long time coming and joy is deserved.

5. Indeed. Some of us worked our butts off these last 8 years.
I can't imagine being miserable after this win. We hold the House, the Senate and the WH, finally! W00t!!

3. I'm feeling it too!
The whole world is excited about the possibilities that lay before us. We have a new President who gets it and who cares about what is happening out here. Brighter days are ahead.

7. Obama is the first "internet" president.
He's the first real internet using president. And this is no small thing.

I'm as excited about Obama as I am about what the internet has done for humankind. It brought all of our minds together into one great mind. And what that has done is bring doubt, controversy, evil, anger, happiness, comparison, agreement, love together. It has knocked off the spikes and peaks, and created a more uniform and unified world. And then there is Obama. The conductor. The man and brilliant woman who will bring fruition to this symphony of minds.

It's early. I've been very sick for days with an agonizing migraine. I've been unwilling to celebrate this period in our history. I've been full of cynicism that one man can't bring, or worse, WON'T bring justice and truth back to reality. And he can't reverse some of our problems. But. But. There is a "but" in my mind. One that says that we can do something. And will do something. We don't even know what it is yet. Justice and truth and caring for each other and the planet. Something along those lines.

I'm also feeling it. Turn the page.

9. I've been on a natural high and getting higher since November 4th.
I think what we are seeing is people who see the glass half full and those who see it half empty and...sadly...some see the glass completely empty. Nothing will ever be good enough for them. If a person can't get excited now...they might as well give it up!

If one of Obama's choices turns out to be disasterous, I won't hesitate to say something about it and write him letters, etc. But, to complain now, before anything has even happened and deny yourself the joy of this ONCE IN A LIFE TIME moment...is just plain sad.
