There's not much "Biden Inaugural" coverage, to the point that I don't even know when it happens or when he speaks. A case can be made that the magnitude of the improvement moving from cheney to Biden is even greater than that from bush to Obama, based on the fact that cheney is actually evil whereas bush is just a dope.

Considering that it's cheney who's really been running things, the transition we are making is from cheney to Obama. Talk about change!

(edit: added final thought)

1. Bush is just as evil as Cheney.
Bush as a dope just meant that all his
evils were managed incompetently.

3. Agreed. bushco uses the "dope" thing to gain sympathy
because he's manipulative and doesn't really care what anyone thinks of him. he's just as evil as chainee.

The times when he's appeared as a dope, he was probably drunk. That's my guess listening to him stumble and stutter. A high-functioning drunk right in front of us on national teevee.

7. I see what you mean, but of the two cheney is worse IMO.
Both his words and his actions have been sociopathic and vile. How different from Barack and Joe is it possible to be?

2. I fully expect Vice President Biden to shine, shine, shine for at least 4 years.
I don't think anyone is going to forget him.

6. He'll also probably hide less and *talk* a lot more than cheney.
But you know what? I like to hear him talk, almost as much as he does! Go Joe!

8. This is one of the changes I'm ALL for; we NEED them to talk TO/WITH us, not at us and
if there is an actual dialogue going on, both sides will be challenged to adapt and grow. Just like dialogue in your own real life, sometimes we'll hear things that are problematic, sometimes they are going to hear things that are problematic, but if both sides stay committed to the process, differences can be integrated and solutions can be found. I like that Joe Biden is going to be important in this, because he has always shown that he is not afraid of dialogue.

5. Yes, but Cheney will still be free to roam the earth, doin' his evilizin'
Actually, he won't be free to roam the entire earth. He and Rummy have their travel options pretty limited these days thanks to international arrest warrants for war crimes.

9. I f-ing hate the fact that C & R will, through proxies, be quite busy building a Potemkin Village in
Iraq. Gotta show that "WE WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG" afterall.

10. Yes, instead of having a representative of Big Oil for VEEP,
We'll have a representative of the Credit Industry in that slot. Yippee:eyes:

11. One thing of worry about their security
Obama and Biden are so often together! One of the pundits accurately mentioned that they really are close! One doesn't expect Biden to be in an undisclosed location all the time.

It makes Pelosi closer to the Presidency than she would normally be.
