I Wish Obama Would Wear A Lincoln Type Top Hat For The Inauguration
Just to drive the right wing nuts.

Don't forget, Roosevelt wore one too.

They are crying the blues about Obama taking Lincoln away from them.

"Obama Is NOT Lincoln!" Waaaaaahhhhhh :nopity:

I've never seen such a chameleon as Obama. He's a radical terrorist celebrity house negro that's not white enough, nor black enough who is left wing, right wing and centrist; a man of the people who sucks on the corporate tit.

I hate to say it, but right now I'm loving how he's driving all the haters nuts. At first it was getting on my nerves. But now it's just amazing to watch it all unfold.

2. Almost every president through Kennedy wore a top hat.
HuffPo had a fun slideshow/article suggesting the same thing as you: Bring back the top hat!

10. Hey thanks for the article. I didn't see that.
LOL My idea was prompted by all the crying Sean Hannity is doing about his beloved Lincoln. lol

4. Are we sure he isn't?
The last PEOTUS that wore one on Inaugural day was a person who had an extreme dislike for hats - JFK:

I'm in favor of Obama wearing a top hat just because, if anyone can, HE can "pull it off."

14. Have you seen Barack in his cowboy hat?
He wore it when he first came down to Texas for the last minute surge of campaigning in the primary. He looked so cool!

6. I think he should wear a lei
in honor of his Hawaiian origins. Nothing flowery, though - just a tasteful maile one.

16. nah, hula skirts are too touristy
but when I was there for the Hawaiian primary last year all the candidates did wear leis for their TV appearances. With Hawaiian shirts, of course.

I think it will be too cold for flip-flops in DC tomorrow, so he can keep his regular shoes.

7. When I watched the concert yesterday and the presentations,
I was struck by that fact that he's certainly got Lincoln's ears! LOL

I guess Lincoln listened and heard a lot too. Definately got his ears.

:spank: It would make the right wing all too happy. No, I think Lincoln is the way to go. Drive it right down their throats. LOL

22. Personally, I think top hats
look silly. Especially since they went out of style well before JFK's inauguration.

But if Obama chooses to wear one I won't criticize or complain.

Would this be the one thing that can truly test Obama? LOL Is he so cool that he can even make a top hat look okay? LOL

29. I've always been really into hats thru out my life, it takes a certain kinda person to pull off
a look like this. Obama could do it. and Biden too.

I doubt they will try it thou. Why take a stupid risk like that?

It's all good. I've got a Top Hat in my vintage collection, think I'll wear it tomorrow while watching the Inauguration online.

25. Although I'm an atheist, I really appreciate how the pundits keep saying "Lincoln Bible" over & over
Making it that much harder for wingnuts to circulate "scary Koran" emails. Am I right?

if he did that though. I agree he should wear the hat, but at a later time (maybe next year).
