Remember waiting for Gallup at Noon and Zogby at Midnight???
What a year it has been!!

Here was my old schedule!!

6:30am - Get up, log on to DU before getting dressed. Make sure no overnight polls were posted.
7:00am - Analyze the shit out of RealClearPolitics until my eyes bleed!
7:30am - Arrive at work, launch the DU on the Iphone and check for any news, etc
(every 15 minutes from 7:30 - 11:30) Check DU for:
Polls, RAS, And any damn polling company that will post
Concerns,
MSNBC slams
Limbaugh is a jerk posts
They are not covering Obama like McCain posts
Etc.
11:30pm - 12:05 - Wait for Gallup, either Panic or Celebrate
12:30pm - 5:00 (same as from 7:30 to 11:30)
5:30pm - Arrive home, change, eat dinner with Family, try to act normal
6:30pm - Log on to DU
7:00pm - Olbermann
8:00pm - Maddow
9:00pm - 11:00pm - Try to do anything else but politics, shower, bills, etc,
11:00pm - 12:00pm - try to interpet what Drudge is hinting at for Zogby, if no Drudge post then await good news.
12:00am - Read Zogby, then either sleep well or worry until 1:00am and toss and turn all night

Repeat over and over until November 5th.

2. Where are your spreadsheets?
We had spreadsheets going here, calculating what would happen if one state went one way, and another - another. We had the same thing for Super Delegates. Pure craziness.

3. I often think...
If only I had known that Obama would win...it would have been such a fun and exciting summer. It was hard to enjoy any of it, even seeing him speak because of the stress. Even the poll numbers were no great assurance with that pesky Bradley Effect hanging over are heads! No matter....I'm full of joy NOW!

I remember being really sick with strep throat and a stomach flu in the middle of the night during the summer....and all of the sudden, thinking "He's not going to win. They're not going to let him. I should just get used to it and accept it." Like, it all became so clear. I think it was just fever delusions, because even the next day I was like "What was that about?!" Heh.

7. I'm glad I'm not alone! I kept the same schedule!

This is honestly true!

About a week after the election I was in bed. When I turned and looked at my clock and it said 11:55pm. I suddenly got a frenzied feeling in my stomach and I said to myself, "Zogby should be posting anytime now!" I actually leaned over and flipped open my laptop before I caught myself! I couldn't believe my actions! Worse yet, my nervous stomach stayed with me for nearly 20 minutes!

I then put in my DVD of MSNBC's election night coverage and fell asleep to it!

It's amazing how during that time period, just one poll could make or break your day!
