I used to play the Flute and the Piccolo in the
School Orchestra. Never did the marching thing though.

6. I started out with a Violin,
But walking home from school, it used to knock up with my knees, and I couldn't carry it and my books easily. So my big brainstorm had me switching over to the Flute.

15. The 6th pic you have is my son's high school marching band at Chimp's parade.
West Johnston High School from Johnston County, NC. A couple of the band members refused to travel to DC to march for the Chimp. Performing in the parade was part of their grade for band, but I never found out how their grades were affected for not marching.

20. though I'm not much of a parade buff, I have to admit that . . .
U.S. inaugural parades are unbelievable spectacles that evoke feelings of pride and optimism . . . even if you're not a fan of the military, you have to admire the precision of the cadet corps from the academies and the active duty units (assuming there are any left, what with most of them being detailed to Iraq or Afghanistan) . . . I'll be watching . . .

21. There are supposed to be a lot of hand picked marching bands
as well.....even a Marching Band from hawaii....

and floats and stuff.

Considering Who will be saluted, it should be an awful lot of fun!
