For eight nightmarish, horrifying years we've seen our country and its values trashed. We malcontents posting at DU were an unimportant minority-loud-mouthed leftists of no importance.

Here at DU we argued a lot over whether Ralph Nader was pure evil or Wes Clark committed war crimes (Nader was pure evil, Clark committed no crimes IMHO). Kerry was crucified, Richardson evisorated, and Edwards ...well, he fucked up big time didn't he.

Tomorrow we become the majority for the first time in DU history. We aren't the "underground" anymore. We form a government. This is our day, this is our time.

that I'm still furious over the 2000 election. I'm glad my new president doesn't carry grudges because I sure as hell do.

but living in Texas there was no one around me as outraged so it just felt so surreal - I knew bush would be a complete disaster for America. Then I stumbled on DU - gawd, what a lifesaver it has been.

Though it's going to be real hard to find any erection of any of those, except in his own over-excercised id. :-)

for the supreme court. There have always been Libertarian candidates to pull 2 percent away from the Republicans.

I remember many days a dark funk.

still the same "DU" we all know and love, but now we're above ground and ready to kick ass and take names . . .

There will be little besides complaints. So many who've never done real life politics will be in here pissing and moaning that things aren't happening lickety split cause they have no clue about how it actually does work.
