Michigan people?

Got an email from Obama team - they want us to send emails to ALL elected officials in Michigan, Republican and Democratic, to support Obama's recovery plan for our state. If you didn't get the email, here's part of it... they're not asking for donations, just support:

On Tuesday, we witnessed the historic inauguration of Barack Obama, making him our 44th commander in chief and first African American president. Today our work begins in earnest to get our economy back on track.

As the state of Michigan prepares to slash $1.5 billion from our state budget-impacting schools, roads and rapid transit, police and fire protection, health care for children, day care assistance and everything else state government touches, President Obama has an economic recovery plan working its way through Congress that could save as many as 158,000 Michigan jobs which would otherwise be lost in the next year. Michigan now has a record-high unemployment rate of over 10%, so there isn't a moment to lose.

But some members of Congress are engaging in the partisan political game that President Obama has committed to transcend. At the same time, these partisan ideologues are attempting to revise history by baselessly claiming that President Roosevelt's New Deal actually made the Great depression worse. It's laughable, isn't it?

Take action now. Urge Congress to move quickly on the stimulus package to put Michiganders back to work. Tell them not to be distracted by those who would seek to obstruct progress in the name of worn-out ideology. Please sign by Monday night. We'll deliver your signatures to the Michigan delegation when Congress reconvenes Tuesday morning.

... the whole grass roots movement, right down to the "send us all the emails you'ev ever known and you'll get a t-shirt" thing, all being turned into (if that was not the plan all along) one of the most effective tools for lobbying congress.
