Is Obama growing a mustache?

I hope he'll never grow one. Mustaches are horrible things. Now a chinbeard...that would be the shit. :)

I'm all for anything that will help distinguish him from the previous regime.

Anyway, black men are prone to a skin condition called pseudofolliculitis barbae, where the natural curl of their hair causes the hair shaft to burrow into the skin rather than grow out straight. This is a particular problem during times of stress, when changes in skin chemistry make pimples and other minor skin infections much more common. And I can't think of any man, of any race, under more stress right now than President Obama.

Personally, I think he should grow out a moustache, maybe a goatee. :hi:

In reference to Barack Obama, his hair is not extremely "curly/Kinky" by African-American standards. I'm sure that has something to do with him being half White.

In addition, Barack is not a hairy guy (one can check his arms for verification), and this affliction you speak of, normally is suffered by Black men with Kinky hair who are relatively hairy as far as Black Men go (who, on a whole, tend to be less hairy than White men).

Barack Obama doesn't suffer from the condition you describe. Those that do usually tend to wear beards and mustaches, that way it becomes something that they don't have to deal with.

I speak as a Black woman married to a Black man who doesn't suffer this affliction, because he has what the Black Community terms as "good hair"...meaning hair that is less kinky and more curly/wavy...similar to Obama (although Obama's hair is probably a bit kinkier than my hubbies)

I think kinky/curly hair is sexy as well. And this is a black woman speaking here...

As a Black woman, you know that there are many degrees of textures when it comes to Black Hair.
Just because he wore a "natural" in college when his hair is grown out, might give the appearance of being kinky, but it isn't extreme. One can easily tell that from looking at the nap of his neck and the sides with his close cut. He suffers no BBs or "naps", as we call them (I'm sure you are familiar with these terms).

Take someone like Isaac Hayes....now he had the ingrown hair problem, which is why he always wore a beard.....

Barack Obama just doesn't suffer from this ailment, and Barack's close cut reveals just how kinky or not that kinky his hair is....and in comparison with others, his hair is not extremely kinky, although it isn't straight.

I moved out to Seattle for love. My BF had a full, rather long (5 inches) beard; my beard then was a bit shorter but just as full. We both identify as Bears, a sub-set of the gay community that values the male hirsuit body and face.

While chatting over dinner with a lesbian couple, one of the women said, "I just cannot understand the whole appeal of beards."

I took her hand, placed it under my BF's chin, and wiggled her fingers. Then I said, "Now, imagine this running up and down your inner thigh."

Her eyes got very wide. She turned to her partner and said, "I bet we could find fake beards on the Internet...."
