If anything, it would help me feel better about what they're trying to do to curb the problem. My husband has been laid-off twice since 2007 (luckily he's working now... but who knows?) and I don't feel good about this environment.

1. He probably will
in February. President Obama is supposed to address a joint session of Congress and it's supposed to be focused on the economy.

2. We need a public reckoning of how we got here, despite his prefering not to blame GOP.
Certainly personal responsibility and unethical behavior in maximizing those regulatory loopholes.

Still, these last years of war mismanagement, spent off the budget, misplaced tax cuts, would go a long way for public to realize magnitude of challenge, in building infrastructure (not since Eisenhower), and ilencing the purely political of the GOP comments.

We need it simple, and need it often. By Dems on every TV show, with Reich on TV more often. Krugman can have a tin ear, and isn't always right, despite his Nobel.

3. I was thinking the same thing this weekend - unless their is honest reckoning
of what the problem is, I don't think the American people are going to buy into any of the proposed solutions.

I think it is too early for Obama to address the nation on the economy. I think it is going to take some time for the Obama people to get a handle of exactly what is going on and what actually will work to fix it.
