Does anyone know if the Obama Admin is planning on reigning in-
These pharma companies advertising on TV?

It seems like they list a symptom until it fits you.

Personally, I think the US is medicated enough as it is, let PROPER testing be done- lower costs- and get the medicine into the hands of the people who need it. Not focus on mood alteration, or penile enhancement fad pills.

Anyone?

1. Husband and I were just talking about this yesterday.
Imagine the wasted time in doctors' offices spent answering all those "is this right for me?" questions. Doctors must be pulling their hair out. There must be millions that could be saved, and those savings passed along, by eliminating or curtailing these ridiculous ads.

2. I sure hope so,
As an RN, I completely agree with you. We need to go back to doctor prescribed medicine only.

These pharmaceutical companies are playing with peoples' lives literally. I understand how someone might desire to use penile enhancement pills, want to lose weight, etc, however, if they are taking other prescriptions, individuals could be subject to a severe drug interaction, possibly fatal. A lot of times, people will not seek their doctors guidance when ordering these prescriptions, and it can be literally dangerous to their health not to do so.

Do the pharmaceutical companies care? No. They care about making that almighty dollar, bottom line. It has become so far out of hand in this country, something needs to be done.

3. This is one more problem that would go away if we had a national single-payer healthcare system.

4. One commercial was very blatant in attitude towards Dr.s
It said " Ask your prescriber if ******** is right for you".

Prescriber....that's what they think doctors do.
